Picked up a new key yesterday. Paid the higher price at Ford, but I like instant gratification. Programmed the RKE today with no problems. Will get the key cut on Monday when I go in to have the airbag recall done.

I had an ebay one on order that I just got the other day. I decided to go through the programming process. Key worked, fob didnt (have an 05). Of course it didnt. I then decided to hack the software..I plugged it into my computer, theres a tiny port that a cable I ordered plugged into that, then into usb. I downloaded a software from the web, and it allowed me to go in to the remote and reprogram manually. I got the exact code from the old remote doing the same thing and recoded the remote to work like the 05/06 one. All I had to do then was seal the key up, get it cut and walah plug it in and start the car...also unlock/lock the doors.

Can some one post a pic of the circuit board on the fusion key? How does the size of the IKT compare to the RKE? I am curious if the circuit board from a RKE will fit into the IKT housing. There is not much to the circuit board on the fobs if the IKT is similar someone with good sodering skills could transfer the chip and crystal from a RKE to a IKT.

I can tell you from reviewing some pictures on ebay that the battery is the same between the two.....
I bet the internals are nearly indentical in size.....

The circuit board from the RKE doesn't fit into the fusion key...

I've got it all figured out for you 05/06 owners. I can make as many of these as you want for 100 each. Just send cash in the mail to me.

Nice! Reminds me of the iFlip phone I made shortly after the iPhone came out. My Regional Manager sent it to all his colleagues. Had a good laugh.

I bought a key off e bay for $44.00 had the key cut program the key and it works great.. The lock guy that cut the key said that he could change the tumbler in the 05 to match the 08 then remove the chip from both the 05 and 08 glue the near the tramsmitter and one key for both cars but the key pod for the 05 would still need to be used to open the door, security and trunk?
