Did your recall letter mention anything about the passenger side airbag at all, or just the driver's side?

This letter was for the passenger side. The letters a year ago were for the drivers side.

All I can suggest then is contact your dealership and provide them with your VIN number to make certain there were no errors involved regarding your recall notice letter you got from Ford

Both for the driver's side a year ago and the passenger side this week, the dealer ran the VIN to verify the need. I also ran my VIN on a recall site and it turned up there as well.

If the dealer and the other website which I assume is the national highway traffic safety administration? has verified that your car is listed under the Takata airbag safety recall for the passenger side inflator? then you just might as well schedule an appointment with your local dealer to bring your car in for the replacement. Here's also a link for the NHTSA website.

Yes...I already did that. Both drivers and passenger side inflators have now been replaced. No other recalls pending on my car.

Glad everything worked out. Hopefully, this will be the last of the airbag recalls

I still need to do mine. I just have no time. I daily drive the car and have my kids on the weekends. I need to take a day off and do it.

Although I realize how rough it must be when you have such a busy schedule during the week and then only have time to spend with your kids on the weekends, hopefully, you'll be able to schedule an appointment with your dealership soon to bring your car in for the airbag replacements, Pat

If you can get it scheduled (I understand how busy you are) the Tech shouldn't take any longer than approx. 30 minutes to do the job. I took my '06 in for the passenger side (dealer finally got them in), and before I could walk to the coffee pot the service writer came up, smiled, and you're ready. However, the Tech that works on my cars is a wizard of the wrenches. One of the good ones.

Passenger side finally done. Took half a day. When I picked up the car there was debris from under the dash all over the floor mat . What ever happened to doing the job like the car belonged to you?

I stopped by my dealer yesterday, after having another screw in my left rear tire, to see if they could do the airbag. Out of parts again. I wish they'd just let me do it myself.

I'd clean it up and dump it on the service advisor's desk. Just walk away and don't say a word.

It's not the Service Advisor's fault that the tech is a slob.
I was an Advisor for almost 10 years, and I was good at my job.
But I could not babysit every tech at every job to make sure they did a perfect job every time.
Techs are grown-us. Some of them refuse to show it and behave like babies.
Again, not the Service Advisor's fault.

Consider another dealership that's still within your local area

That's the problem. There isn't really. They closed 3 dealers in this general SF Bay Area only to have one service a HUGE area (distance and time, considering traffic). I don't have time to drive an hour+ each way to the next nearest dealer. It's only like 15 miles away, but SF Bay Area traffic.

Pat, then I would recommend contacting Ford corporate and request to speak a customer support rep and find out what the hold up is and that you're getting fed up having to wait around not knowing when you're replacement parts for your passenger side airbag will be coming in

Finally got the passenger side done this morning. Less than an hour for me.
