The headlight switch is a 12v bulb. I don't have fogs so I don't know about the foglight LED. I modified mine by cutting the housing the bulb sits in and added a resistor. The switch has a green film on it so I had to sand it off so the blue would shine through. I used a through-hole LED to replace the bulb.

What are the specifics on that resistor and LED? The stock bulb in mine burnt out and I'm not shelling out $50 for the whole assembly to get the bulb

Help me Derek, you are my only hope!~!

The dash has been fine...... I have come unstuck trying to do the door lights (the locks and the windows). If anyone has done this and can help I would appreciate it!! I cut the dome lights off and have soldered the SMDs on but still nothing!!

I'm sure it is just a case of +/- but I have lost faith!! Now I can't tell what way round is right and what is wrong!!

Thanks, this is my first attempt at soldering..... probably my last!! I just don't have the patience I used to have.

LOL..... I have just been through all that this afternoon!! I was going to ask that question later, as I have nearly broken the switch!! It just doesn't seem to come apart!

I would love to know the answer to this. I tried taking the first part to pieces and was left with just the white bit, then tried to do the larger outside bit but could seem to find a way to separate it completely.

If I remember correctly there are tabs that you release to separate the switch. It's been over a year since I did the headlight switch so I don't remember. I can pull my switch in the next couple of days to let you know.

Good job! If you are talking about the foglight indicator I am unsure since I don't have fogs.

Thanks Derek, I have fogs so it may be a different set up for me, I tried 2 sets of tabs, one just released the white section of the light fitment. The second releases more of the housing from the components but it seems to catch on the fog switch pull out.... if that makes sense?

Seems like a tough one. I have ordered a neo-wedge bulb that is high powered so I shall see what that does..... if not I will try and disassemble the housing and hope nothing breaks so that I can sand down the green film.

Thanks again Derek for all your input.

Got a bit of win/fail situation here. Ordered red led's with the mcd recommended by someone else(I dont remember who) and got almost completely done only to find out theyre entirely too bright for my setup. Soooo a few hours and $20 fail. But onto the win. I made a replacement window for the radio that is red. I went to Lowes and got a 12" x 12" x 0.080" sheet of plexiglass and cut it to the same size of the green window on the radio. After that I threw it in a pot of simmering water with a a packet of scarlett red Ritt Fabric Dye in it. Let it cook for about an hour or so and voila - dyed plexiglass window. It cost me roughly $5 to make the new window. Ill get some pics up once I order new leds and put them in. I can get pics of the window in the mean time if requested.

I'd like to see some pics of that. How "red" is it and do you think other colors would work as well?

Derek,

Did the acrylic shop make a new lense for your Shaker? If so...how did it come out and what was the cost?

What MCD level did you get? In my original post I stated 200-300 would probably be a better match.

No - the shop was of no help. I was looking at making a mold and color casting replacement ones but decided to install my CarPC instead.
