Yep. I stopped keeping score a while ago. I do when playing with friends or with tournaments, I just want to have some good shots and holes. More than anything I just want to enjoy the peace and quiet.

And since we're on the golf thing, a quick shot of #17 at Patriots Point that I played over the weekend. "island" green plays out into the bay. Pretty cool, you can see the beautiful bridge one way, and all the container ships, kayaks, fishing boats the other way over the marsh land.

Real golfers always talk about that perfect round. For me two or three holes in a row at par is a perfect round of golf for me!

I've never golfed, but I figure I'd be pretty good at riding around on a cart drinking all day.

Ok Mods/guys I'm noticing this more often in our threads. One persons post shows the pic and another's just shows a blank little box see my pic below. I'm on the GT Garage Talk app is there something I'm doing wrong or is it how someone posts their pics?

Do you have fun while playing? Then that's all that counts. Unless you slow me down, of course.

lol...no we don't. Jack Nicklaus once said that he considered it a very good round if he struck more than half a dozen shots exactly how he wanted to. No one shoots a perfect round, ever. The best in the world have never shot one. Trust me, it's a matter of reducing the size of the mistakes you make on each swing. Just like the 20+ handicapper, it's the one or two perfect swings on each round that keep golfers coming back.

****ing hackers

I'll give them about three holes to let me through and then I'm hitting through them

I haven't played a weekend round or any round that wasn't some charity tournament in probably 5 years. And I stopped playing seriously back in 2007 when I was building one of my houses myself and didn't have time. I wasn't a pro like you but I played 45 holes a week with blades and could make all the shots.

Couldn't get over the 'tin cup' syndrome though. Never played smart. Always going for it. Always trying to be long or carry some trees or water or cut over the OB to shorten the distance. It's just the way I am.

lol...played with a friend that considered anyone in front of him a hacker. We ran up on one twosome who was just leaving the tee box as we arrived, and he started complaining. They both hit their second shots on a par 5 onto the green, and I told him he couldn't do that if his life depended upon it. "They're still hackers," he said. I asked why, and he said, "****ers are slowing me down! They're hackers!" He would often play a full round before he went to work on Friday mornings, and he'd get to his office by 9:30am. I'd stand over my putts just to **** him off.

I used to go for it whenever there was any question, until I played competitively. Then I started getting cold feet, because a shot in the water meant the difference between playing the weekend and paying for the trip or going home and having to explain to the wife why we were going to have to take money out of savings to cover the credit card bill. It wasn't any fun anymore, and my shoulder getting torn up was the push I needed to get out of competitive golf. I miss playing.

Lol. I'm not that terrible. Just not that good. High 80's is a great day. 90's is normal. I do have manners and will let faster play through but that usually doesn't happen. I probably would be better if I didn't rush most shots. You force play up my *** and I WILL hit your ball back at you. I don't hit straight often but those shots back do go straight. Lol. I usually will give a guy behind me one close one with "the look back". Next one is either coming back at you or off the course. It's a gentleman's game but I ain't one of them. If you're in the wrong I will let you know.

The only times I've ever gotten in any altercation on a golf course was when I was younger.

When I was about 19 I was playing in a tournament and I was on a par 5 18th hole. It played about 550 and I was a good 250 out in the middle of the fairway. There was water all along the right so I played a 2 iron off the deck thinking I'll be close below the green. Well the group ahead was finishing up and they looked done so as they are walking off i hit. Well the ball bounces and rolls all the way up to the green as they are walking off the edge. Amazing shot really. But this drunk old mother ****er gets burr up his butt and comes at me when I roll up in the cart saying I hit into them. At first I was nice saying sorry and hey you were done and it didn't come within 50' of them rolling but he kept it up and finally at the clubhouse I had enough and got into his face and told him he was full of it and get over it. My dad sensing that I wasn't gonna back down, and this guy was obviously drunk, stands in the small space between me and him and puts his finger in his chest and tells him to back off. And he did. He left. And his poor playing partners said hey at least you didn't have to play 18 holes with the son of a *****.

The other time I was walking at a country club course. I was 16. Hit an errant shot on a links type course that meant I was playing in the rough of another hole. Find my ball and hit it. Dude comes up to me and says I hit his ball. I said no dude I played a titless 2. He said yeah that's my ball. I asked him if it was marked and he said no. I said well mine is marked. So he takes off to go look at it and ****ing runs over the back of my foot with the golf cart. My ****ing heel. Holy crap I wanted to kill the mother ****er but i was a 16 year old high school kid who wasn't a member playing there and he was a member and a humongous douchebag. So he gets to the ball and looks at it and keeps it and drives off. And it was my ****ing ball because it had my mark on it. Man that ****er deserves a nice warm spot in hell.
So I limp back to the clubhouse. Throw my clubs in my truck as quit golf for the next 3 years of high school.
