Interesting, I have never seen a small child made out of jello.

Why am I not surprised, lol
Pudding is okay. Jello, no.

Yeah, I tried it a couple times back when I first got on the Firefly. They were out and I got some of that. It was ok, but I didn't like it as well as the Firefly. It was WAY too dark, too strong of a tea flavor. It was so dark that it looked like coke in a glass, even after you put the water in it. And it had some kind of sediment in the bottom of the bottle that floated around, I think it might have been because it was sweetened with honey maybe?

Edit:

This was after it was mixed 1/2 and 1/2 with water. It might be alright for someone that doesn't mix drinks as strong as I do, but the tea flavor was overwhelming. And the sediment floating really turned me off.

Somebody did tell me that their regular vodka was good back then, but I never tried it.

You know the rule of thumb - if you can't taste the liquor you've got too much mixer. Which would be hard to imagine with you. lol

The sediment could be they used bulk tea to steep. Or a mouse ate a hole in the teabags.

It was weird and really turned me off. It was a layer on the bottom of the bottles that was there when I bought it but you couldn't see it because it was so dark. After shaking it around a little at home with the light over the stove behind it you could see fairly large flakes floating around in it, not fine little sand like grains.

But if you really shook the hell out of it for a few minutes after some liquid was gone out of the bottle and it had more room to slosh around it would all dissolve. I figure it would come back if you left it sitting long enough (like on the store shelf) but I never keep one long enough for that to happen.

I thought the rule of thumb was you could legally beat your slave with a stick no larger than the thickness of your thumb

Lol

Just 4 walls, a roof, a couple screen doors, and a huge smoker out back with a big pile of wood next to it.

That's where you're going to come across good bbq.
In my experience, some of the best BBQ comes from a place that was formerly a gas station... got a pile of oak and hickory piled alongside an exterior wall to feed the smoke pit out back, and a tinge of woodsmoke in the air from the early morning hours until they run out of meat. Man, I love the South!

There's a place in Edna, TX (no, seriously) that was run by an old man right on the corner of Hwy 59 and whatever the name of the main road running into Edna from the north is that I would stop by when coming in from hunting in the morning. He had a couple of old picnic benches outside his shack which was, I swear, no larger than our current spare bedroom. It had no AC, just an old wood stove he used in the winter (but not too much, because he "couldn't afford to waste too much of his flavor") and he had two screen doors that let air pass through. In the back, he had both a brick pit and a smoking shack. He used the shack to make his jerky which is still the best stuff I've ever had, and his wife sold the meat in the evenings when the meat was finally cooking. He would leave around 5pm to go home to go to sleep. He'd wake up at 1am and take the meat his wife had prepared the previous day and begin cooking it at 3am after letting it reach ambient temp. It was the best BBQ I've ever had. Once she sold what she had, she'd close up no matter what time it was. She usually was never there past about 7pm. They always had people asking them to make orders for them and set it aside, and he told me he and his wife just didn't want to go to all the work for all of that, because if they did it for one they'd have to do it for everybody and they'd never have any time to themselves. They were in their early 70's at the time, and I understood.I haven't been to Edna in almost a decade and I understand he is no longer around, which is a real shame.

Does anyone know what the hell these commercials I keep seeing are about? They're all of just hundreds of rats scurrying around in various places, no text, no music, no people, just rats running all over the place. I've seen several different ones on several channels (History, FX).

If I had to guess, probably some attempt at viral ads for some show they're trying to hype up. That's my only guess, and I've stopped paying attention to them.
