I feed the hummingbirds here in the summer. There are at least 4 of them that come around. It's fun to watch them chase each other, and you have to duck when they come buzzing right by your head at high speed!

We didn't have as many this year for some reason, but last year I had up 2 feeders and there would often be 15-20 at a time fighting for the 8 spots. It was a frenzy out on the porch in the late afternoons. At one point I was having to fill them up twice a day, and if they got empty the birds would sit and wait for someone to fill them up, then start trying to eat before you even got them hung back up.

We had more this year than in the past. I used to only see two at a time, but this year there were four. There could have been more, who knows. I was filling the feeder once a week or less. That was very unusual for me.

I set my camera up with a wireless remote to get pics like yours, but it seems whenever they had a feeding frenzy and the camera went up, they decided they were full and barely came back! ARRGH!

Hell, I just sat on the porch to take those (and a bunch more). There would be so many swarming that I was having to dodge them flying by my head. They must have went farther up your way this year because it was so damned hot down here.

I'd love to see that many at one time. I love watching them at the feeder.

Great shots!

When I have both garage doors open in the summer I'll have several fly in and then can't figure how to fly back out the doors. So they keep flying into the window. I try to save them by opening the window or door but sometimes I have to 'sweep' them along with the broom. This one got caught and I didn't know so he croaked. I think he bent his beak.

My friend's mom says she will have several at her feeders and they get pretty mean towards each other.

Thanks. Shes right. You should see a dozen or more trying to eat from 8 spots. They get pissed and start dive bombing each other. There will be a few that will hide in the rose bushes and guard each feeder. When others come to eat they attack them, then go back and sit until they want to eat. Sharing is not in the vocabulary, lol.

I dont like doing taxes, but some of the ways they try to get people to alter/encourage a specific behavior is pretty amusing

If you could choose either a 68 Bullit with a modern suspension or a 2008 Bullitt or a 2009 Bullitt which would you choose?
