If I was a collector & into shows I'd consider the '68 - depending what has been done to it in terms of 'modern suspension', as well as many other potential problem areas (engine, trans, body, brakes, heater core, electrical, rust, etc.) that are typical to a 42yr old car and technology. And be prepared for a lot more time & money maintaining rather than driving. Its like buying a 40 yr old house - the money pit monster lurks!

For driving pleasure, handling, power, braking, modern safety, better mileage, low maintenance costs (being a 2 yr old car), still able to buy ESP, etc.; the S197 wins.

Some Bullitt owners think the 09 will be more 'collectible' and hold value a bit better because there were under 1000 of them, but I think they're dreaming. Its the same Special Edition vehicle whether its the 08/40th movie annivesary release, or the 09 stragglers that were only extended because the economy took a dump in the middle of the run. And regardless of the production for each year, the Bullitt Serial Number did not start over in 2009 - they started in the high 5700's. Same car in my book.

Yeah that one is fine for sure!!
Looks like one from that place in St. Louis that did Chad's 68.

But unless its really been gone thru, you've still got 40 yr old squeaks, leaks, technology. That would be my concern. Plus are they pumpin' 315 hp and stopping in 125' (60-0)?

Been in the teens every night this week here. 13 night before last, and it only got up to 31 yesterday. Luckily it did get into the high 40s today though.

Yep I got that from your website

Yeah I think I might get a dynocorn body and find a frame for it maybe at Carlisle if I did get a 1968 ... Would that help with squeaks ..... Not that I can ever afford any of this just something to keep my mind busy

The lows here have been right at 30 and mid 40's in the day. Foot of snow on the ground, 4200', almost winter solstice.

Supposed to break 50 thru the weekend so now the valley's are worrying about flooding from rain/rapid snow melt.
