Worked on my Bronco. Got the cowl cover off. What a mess it was down in there. All kinds of leaves clogging everything. Got it all cleaned out. Luckily no rust and now everything works great and the water drains out as it should. Also removed the windshield trim so I can paint it.
Also started working on the rust on teh tailgate. Trying to dig out what I can before I start cutting and grinding on it. Its about an inch tall and 6 or 8 inches long right in the middle. Its only in the outer skin which is good. Not sure how I'm gonna repair it but first I'm gonna get as much rust out as I can and neutralize the rest. Plus I started putting PB Blaster on the bumper bolts and some of the suspension parts. Bumper is going bye bye. I want something heavier and bigger.

gary's going to need a welder!
the easiest way to patch rust spots like that is to cut the old rusty metal out, and cut a new piece to replace it, and weld it in...then grind down the welds, and put body filler over it, then sand down, so it's smooth...once it gets repainted, if you did it right, you'll never notice it

Gary they make this stuff that actually nuetralizes rust and keeps it from spreading or getting worse. My uncle has used it and it worked really good. He didnt have to grind the rust down to get rid of it. He just put it on roughed it up for a very thin layer of bondo and finished it off with primer and all that good stuff. I cant remember the name of it off the top of my head right now.

I'll probably end up spraying that area of the tailgate with the Line-x bedliner stuff when its all said and done.

Hey Dirk, here are you some tail lights.

The cars are pretty recent and are being parted out. They're good guys to do business with. If those don't work out, I'm sure they can come up with something. They've went out of their way to help me out several times in the past. As far as I know, Gary had good luck with them too.

Washed both cars yesterday and used Meguiars quick detailer on both. What a difference it made! The bad news is that the clear coat on the Mustangs roof has started to bubble and peel off And that's a two year old paint job. Urethane clear coat FTL Also bought two used tires. One for the Blazer, the other for the Protege. I was sick and tired of seeing that 13" wheel in teh RR of the car.
Later folks, closing shift today
