Gary would crack open the remote, tinker with it, and hope that worked.

Well, it's not working now, so what do you have to lose? Gonna have to buy one anyway.

It's in the programming of the remote though. The tv isn't responding to it's signal. Messing inside of it won't fix it.

I even took the little panel over the power button on the tv off. It's something farther in.

Yeah the power button can be a ***** on the TV. I've had that problem before. I just used the remote.

How big is the TV?

Maybe you can take it to UPS. Ship it to a friend. Get it insured. And then make a claim once it arrives saying its damaged.

That's what Kramer suggested to Jerry once. It almost worked until Newman found half naked pictures of George and a male photomat worker in addition to Jerry working on his borken stereo.

If it's the original factory remote it should be pre-programmed for the tv and not need to be changed.

Sounds like you need a longer tool to poke it with.

I would have probably had the tv apart by now.

Funny, aspirin is the only thing that works on headaches for me. But ibu works for muscle pulls/spasms once I get ahead of it. And as much as I hate ice... I don't think heat is not your friend right now. Gotta do the frozen pea/icebag thing... brrrr!!!!

As they say in Inuit... "Gewd idea!" (Never Cry Wolf).

PS: Nathan - how's the batteries in the remote? Drrr...

The factory remote broke long ago. This is the directv remote. I thought I might be able to program it through another tv, but I needed the tv to work to do that. Maybe I'll go online and search through codes to see if I can do it that way. I don't know.

Time for bed. Wish me luck on my presentation tomorrow.

Hey Nathan, did you try this? Just try it with the TV turned off, it should still work. I know in the past it always has for me.

You can search for your remote codes here, just so long as you can still see the remote model #.

IDK give it a try, I bet the remote just lost the programing for the TV.

If none of that works i'm pretty sure you can get a new universal remote for $15-$20. Or you could get one like this. It's what I have and it's sick, just plug it into your computer and program away.
