Does your TV have a VGA input? You could try that too. What type of connection is on the back of the computer for the monitor?

I think it's VGA. Whichever one is the blue one. Both my laptop and both of our desktops have HDMI inputs/outputs that I can hook up to the tv. That's what I use to stream netflix on the tv.

I'm out of touch on some stuff since I build my own and don't upgrade too often. The one i'm on now is a Core I7 with 12 gig of memory and 3 terabyte drive space, so i'm good for a while. I do need a faster video card though.
