Best Mustang ever built and now it is possible by using it as intended, ocassionally tracking it, they may not have to fix a possible transmission defect (as i interpret driveline). I may misunderstand. But tracKey may be as risky as the car having issues on the track without TracKey. What do you think?

I hear you, but if a major component gets trashed, say the engine and you own and use the tracKey, its not like I can fix that myself and labor rates are $$$. But then again in 3 years if the engine etc is solid, i suppose it may be good enough, i have to think this over for awhile.

I added a $5,600 FRPP/Whipple blower to my year old GT500. The warranty essentially vaporized.

You guys are adding a tune I could only dream about for $302 and still have plenty of warranty left. Count your blessings gentlemen. You are living the dream. Be grateful.

From what is coming out in bits and pieces, its essentially like that without trackey. There's a member here who had a clutch fail at 10K miles on a GT, they replaced it, then it failed again later on. They found out he had tracked it one time after the clutch replacement and basically told him to kick rocks, not their problem anymore (even though it was obvious the failure was a defect in the clutch, not abuse)

If I were going to track one, I **** sure would never post a video, or even mention it on the internet, because they are monitoring that stuff and they will use it to deny coverage.

Its nothing recent though, its been going on for a while. Can't remember who it was, but IIRC, a while back a member with a GT500 had posted about getting a pulley and tune, and some info about going to the strip a couple of times. The clutch **** the bed at 2000 miles or so, and they told him tough titty, they had seen what he posted on here, and that his warranty was void. (That may have been somewhere else, but I think it was here)

Aren't all warranties voided anyway if something goes wrong from running it on the track????

Not to mention they read these forums to find out who is taking their cars to the track or doing burnouts and such.

Well as of right now it looks like I am really not missing anything (really wanted to be able to tune both sides of the pcm) And if I didn't have the KB I would have done a custom Lund tune instead of $500 for this...dunno

Just thought it would be cheaper, and I am really surprised at the warranty change. Hopefully there IS a performance advantage beside the cool ability to change tunes with the key, and launch control, over a SCT and a good tuner like John

end Rant

Very sharp eye! Our current drivetrain warranty is 5 years 60,000 miles.

Ford'd email does escalate some interesting questions about the warranty on our Boss.

I would rather have the extended warranty than the TK! Since not a tracker, I'll pass if the ESP won't hold.

I'll say. Bought car for Trackey. Held off on storage for Trackey. Now Trackey can't be part of original purchase. My dealer said he would include it. And my warranty is limited?!?! I already have 20,000 KMs on this car. Not feeling good about the whole experience at this moment.

Maybe: all Boss owners should send a message to FORD by sitting on purchasing the TRACK KEY untill the power train warranties expire or for at least till next spring.
This whole TRACK KEY turned out to be a 2012 BOSS 302 owners BAD DREAM.

Meat Loaf / Bat out of Hell:
My view / BOSS out of Hell

i was nothing but a lonely boy looking for something new
and you were nothing but a lonely BOSS
but you were something
something like a dream come true

i was a varsity tackle and a hell of a block
when i drove my BOSS
i made the canyons rock-but-
every saturday night
i felt the fever grow
do ya know what it's like
all revved up with no TRACK KEY to go
do ya know what it's like
all revved up with no TRACK KEY to go

i was out on the prowl down by the edge of the track
and like a son of a BOSS i'm a leader of the pack-but-
every saturday night
i felt the fever grow
do ya know what it's like
all revved up with no WARRANTY to go
do ya know what it's like
all revved up with no WARRANTY to go

I hope all you 2013 BOSS 302 owners out there are still taking notes: This is another test question on the purchasing agreement test in a couple more months!
