I've worked on a few electrics dating back to a project in the late 90's at Chico St. More recently I've machined a couple of engine adapter plates. Both used a Ford Ranger electric motor that was produced and never used. One guy is a controls engineer and he bought his Passat for $1800 and promptly spent $25k converting it to electric- doing all the work himself including building the controller. He lives close enough to work that he can pretty much get all his energy for free from the company, which is a huge solar panel mfg. Back in the Chico St days a controller was about $30k and the batteries we used were $10k each and we had 26 of them in the Saturn. The thing would roast the tires and had about a hundred mile range.

That appears to be the 07-09 GT500 option (M-7213-J), with reverse on the opposite side of the shift pattern.

Being that the Boss 302S comes with the Shelby transmission it would use the same **** as shown in the picture above.

Question for dummies... what's the difference between the Torsen T2 that costs $1k and the $550 one from AmericanMuscle? I know they're different part numbers, but what's the difference, mechanically?

Boss roof colors: does anyone know what the correct colors and paint codes are for the white, black, and red roofs? My guess it the white roof on the KB is high performance white, HP, but I need to know for sure for when I get my LS spoiler painted.

All the oem stuff is even missing from the oem section. I'm hunting the hood decal, splash guards and has anyone heard anything on the frpp seats? Not doing another summer on the 401A seats

Check with 05stangkc, he may be able to hook you up with a deal on the OEM stuff. He's been off and on of late though, as he's been through a lot recently.

I haven't seen the FRPP seats come online yet, either.

Yeah, I've kinda let my inquiries go, as he has much more to deal with in life than answer parts q's for me.

Got to sit in a set of the seats, and man I really, really need a set. Can't wait to get under a set to see if they can be modified to have a sub belt slot.

If you look at the fordparts.com web site. You will see that the Recaros are basically the regular GT seats with different padding and with side bolster supports bolted on. So you should be able to know about the sub belt installation from your existing seats.

By the way, Miller isn't cutting the seats to add sub belts to their Bosses.

Nasa won't allow 4point belts in even DE classes. They're just not convinced about the anti-submarining. My only desire to have a harness in there is to hold me in better, and allow use of my Hans device when doing DE days (with an appropriate mounting provision in like a bolt in rollbar).

Looking at a breakdown of the frame, it appears difficult, but not impossible.

Wonder if this is why my parts guy said he couldn't find an option in the system for a complete seat? He apparently found these bolt ons, and the price was an alarming $1200+/incomplete seat.

From what I've seen it all comes up as multiple parts. Parts guys get confused as there are quite a few components required to complete a 'seat'.

Updated the list with some new parts, including a Boss-specific alternator which wasn't ever mentioned before.

That's interesting. I burned up two on my GT500 and they were replaced under warranty. I speculated they were being spun too fast and maybe that was the issue. With the higher revving Boss seeing some track duty, they must have a revised alternator that will withstand the harder use.

Boss alternator was noted in that 16-page 5.0 magazine spread. Same thing for the drive belt.
