I like it too but I think it is way to similar to the 2005-14 cars. I doubt it will be this similar from all the reports I'm expecting something very different

Maybe a mix of aston and audi for the next gen lights? Always liked audiʻs led accents on the headlights and the aston shape is so fluid. I think itd be perfect! I really hope they make it easier to work on the hedlights though without havin to take the front bumper off. I miss 99-04 with the two pins to hold em in. It was sooo much easier

I doubt the design will be less complex. I'm usually not the conspiracy type but I think designers intentionally make this cars difficult to work on so the dealers can get some service revenue. My sister's 09 fusion was nearly impossible to have the headlight bulb replaced. My mustangs are so simple to maintain in comparison.

Yes the SN95 headlights were so easy to work on. My 05 Escape requires the bumper to be removed to get to the lower two bolts on each housing, just to change the fricken turn signal bulbs! I did it once, and never put the lower bolts back in.

The sketch on the very bottom is interesting. Very 370z-like in the rear, evolved 2005 up front....I'd buy it!

Exactly. Don't want to deal with that ever again. The top two bolts hold them in just fine!

I never had problems with the headlights not fittin tight enough with just those two pins. I remember when i detail id take my headlights out just cuz i could! Sometimes tails too but its just too much of a hassle now. So annoying!
Aaand you have to adjust the lights before you bolt em in because the adjustment **** is hard to get to isnt it? 99-04 was just so easy

Thy realized that we could change our own bulbs and headlights whenever we wanted for much cheaper so they didnt wanna lose any money.

Ditto to what montreal ponies says below. Some extensive engineering would be needed to have the appropriate chassis rigidity, and style-wise, I'd be hard pressed to see how a potential fastback roofline would support it.

I guess the Audi A7 is an example of something that could be like that.

I think we have a better chance of there being another true "coupe" before there was another hatchback.

I think a hatchback is totally doable. Instead of like in the past, where the metal frame of the glass runs on the outside of the glass, why not have it tucked underneath the glass?. the "rails" of the glass frame could run under and connect to the trunk. A rear shock tower brace or even something built into the rear seatbacks could add rigidity as well.
