I like the options that the "carshow" navi has but that bezel just doesn't look right. I want to find some video or more pics. Everyone! Find more pics!

The Rosen Car Show is basically replacing the the screen that shows the info, and leaving the rest the same. If you remove the panel, there is actually quite a bit of room to put a 8 inch or larger thin screen in that spot.

It makes sense that this is what car show is basically doing.

would be nice though if they utilized all that space though and stuff a big display there.

Update: Spoke with the Engie at OttoNavi, and they are fine tuning some of the issues I brought up. He is going to send me some stuff to show me. The funny thing is I told him about the price hike, and he was not even aware....He actually told me that it was the same, then he checked and was like...Um...Oh....

Makes me wonder whats what on some things. I will say though that if EVERY issue was resolved with what I gave, then it would be a nice system and I would be happy with it.

Still waiting on my info for the Car Show one. I wish they would have went with a 8inch screen. But its a still a nice look, exp when you keep EVERYTHING.

looks like the comp is heating up.

Not so much a make over no. I basically spoke about a few things I thought could be improved, and what a customer would want.

1. Radio app. Looks good, but allow RDS on it.
2. Steering wheel controls needed fine tuning, I been told that now all buttons work, except the sync voice one.
3. I wanted a better dialer. Theirs suck. Period. Been told they may make it where you can pick and choose.
4. Music app for MP3 CD/DvD plus EQ. Again I thought theirs suck. I want to pick and choose my own. They are also working that out.

Also there were small bugs with the cambus box, that have been fixed I am told. My led lights for the AC unit were not working, thats fixed as well.

Those were my issues, and where I thought things could be better. The point of a android style system is choice. Of course some things do not need to be changed, but things like the music app and video player, even the Nav maps, people will want to change. Allowing people to set their own defaults would go a long way.

My point was, you can change the Nav app, why not the rest ?

The Hardware is solid. Nice feel, not cheap. Now just the tune is needed.

Final Update Coming soon

My system has been sent back to me on rush, and I will have it on Monday. The things I spoke to Otto about have been fixed I been told. I am looking forward to testing it again with the fixes in place.

Also they are working on updates, and a "how-to" on where to change other apk's for you to do total customization if you wish. I also went to Monoprice com and picked up a set of adapters that will allow me to use the default USB in the car by plugging where the USB goes to the sync module to instead go to this module.

Once I have everything back in, I will make some video's of the final system.

See ya soon.

Yeah I checked its $750 on Amazon and $900 on website?

Maybe they did not mark it down for sale again...

Anyways I got to fix the popping noise from speakers. They shipped a replacement harness. Only thing is I had to leave a "refundable deposit" for the harness? I mean not sure why they couldn't send it out..something abuot cant have two items out with one payment...etc etc

Here is a direct link to their site. I received my Radio today, but I have issues still. Now I have the buzzing...(harness) I believe, and my led lights for the havoc system still does not light up.

Also I discovered when using their music app, if I switch to FM radio, the screen will switch, but not the audio ?? Though I will say the steering wheel controls now work.

MyMustang, do your Havoc lights light when you push the button ? Does a blue light come on as well as the screen ?

I will say Marty (tech) have been helpful. He has been taking everything into acct and trying to help. But I wonder how much longer I will stay with it. there are other options such as the car show, but I just love the look of the OttoNavi. Its so close. Just a fix two would do it.

Sent my vid VIA dropbox. Marty sent me a email saying the engineers have it. Lets see what happens. If nothing comes, then I think the Carshow may be the next best option

THE FINAL VERDICT

I am returning it. I have the second unit they have sent, and I have the same issues, and actually some new ones. The loud buzz in my speakers is probably a harness issue, but I have found other little problems that I find should not be in a finish product. Issues such as the music not switching when you go to the radio from USB. The fast forward button not working on the steering control, or the unit itself. Other small issues such as force closes I could live with, but the other small problems just made me decide for 750$, I could look for another system.

On a bright note though, I have spoken many times with the techs, and they are aware of the issue. My hat off to Marty who really tried to access everything and get things done. I sent a video of the problems, explaining what was what and I believe in time they will solve the issues, and hash it out, but that time is not now. Perhaps it could be something slightly different on a GT500 that is causing some issues....I am not sure. I was told they tested all on a regular Mustang.

Will it work ? Yes. But for the price, you would expect it to be polished and working correctly, not using work arounds. So for now I would say stay away. Perhaps MyMustangisFaster can chime in on his unit. maybe it is different for his car. But for me, I am throwing in the towel.

So thats that. I really wanted to keep this unit. I really like the look and the build of the hardware. Hopefully they will get their software to catch up with the hardware, and then it would be a winner.

Maybe..seems like a nice option yes, but I need to research it some more. Plus I am not in love with the look honestly..they had more than enough room for a 8 inch screen.

Yes as did I. But Alas, I'll guess I'll keep looking. Perhaps I will upgrade my speakers first..at least the fronts now. What I would really like to do is put the OEM nav in my car....but man that looks like a lot of work. I mean a LOT OF WORK.....It should not have to be that hard to do....

It is not hard. You can do it in a day, no problem. And since a few of us have done it, any one of us can walk you through it.

The reason it seems intensive is because you can't use the dash harness you currently have, as it doesn't have the extra wiring and plugs the nav requires. Therefore you need to switch out that harness with a nav harness that does have those wires and plugs. Aside from the amp, it is plug and play.

If you go this route, let me know and I can help you with it all. The only part that might prove interesting is the OEM amp, but I can take you through that as well. Or just get an aftermarket amp like zeroaviation did.

Whatever you decide, good luck.
