I'm holding off on selling my cluster. The development bug is still biting at me.

Anyone want to chime in here?

As of IDS V87 you can still manually change the AS-BUILT data without VIN lookup. You do this by not obtaining a backup when asked. It will then require you to manually input the AS-BUILT Data.

The ABS module does not store the VIN so it doesnt matter. The VIN is only stored in the VID of the PCM.
Response:

This information is incorrect. The VIN is stored in most of the modules including the ABS, BCM, IPC and ACM . Also, it is usually one-time programmable. This is deliberate on Ford’s part to prevent swapping of modules between vehicles or using salvage yard parts. The PCM stores backup copies of the configuration for all of the other modules. If the VIN in the PCM and another module do not match, it sets codes B2900 (VIN Mismatch) and B2477 (Module Configuration Incorrect) and prevents further configuration until the mismatch is corrected. This requires PMI (Programmable Module Installation). If your guy has a way around this, I can attempt the process, but I can’t be responsible for the results. We run into this issue frequently with vehicles that have had repairs attempted with used parts. I have included an excerpt from the shop manual for your car which shows the modules that require PMI.

Hi guys new here first post. Ive read every post in this thread. I have a base 11 GT. I picked up a wheel cluster headlamp switch and the harness from cluster to wheel from a local 2014 that was totaled with 4500miles for $350. The car is a premium but it doesnt have track apps.

All Im concerned with is the lcd and its gauges working. My car is not a daily so Im not worried about cruise. From what I read here is that I only need the vlack box, have United Radio reset my mileage and to have the Ford dealer reset my PATS.

If this is correct please let me know. Thank you guys for doing all the hard work. In case I didnt say it Im not worried about Cruise or Track Apps.

Thanks again!

I'm not sure how it's a Premium and doesn't have Track Apps. They were standard on Premium trim cars for '13-14.

None of us has tried putting the Cluster into a non-Premium car. Also .. I don't think the 2011 had adjustable Steering so not sure how that function in the Cluster will interact with your car.

Hi! Welcome to the forums!

As discussed previously... We can get all the gauges working with the exception of Track Apps (which is coming soon thanks to the help of jim010)

The steps you have listed are correct.

We do have a semi functioning Cruise control. Once I get more time, i'm going to build out something that will do all the work and trigger the light. But time is rare now days.

Correct. 13MY and 14MY Premium was standard.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Thank you guys for the responses. I have tried to get the dash harness and ecm from the car but the seller doesnt want to split the ecm from engine, or dash from harness. I may just swap over the steering wheel for now and hold off on the cluster install.

My wife has been hinting at a 15 so we may trade my 11 for it and Ill get her 12 gt premium.

As for adjustable steering I hadnt even thought about using it.

I have one other question. Is there a way to modify the cruise buttons from the 14 wheel to work correctly with the 11 ecm? Or would you need the dash harness and ecm?
Im not super worried about but it would be nice to have if we do trade it in.

Zeroaviation would you mind sending me a pm with the price of your black box?
Thanks again!

Sorry for the extra post I had forgotten the track apps issue. I had pulled the VIN and none of the options had listed Track Apps. This was mostly why I wasnt concerned about using it.

I now have the ABS module in my hands. I just need to have my tech input as biult data in the new year, and then I will work with Matt to get track apps working.

I have one other question. Is there a way to modify the cruise buttons from the 14 wheel to work correctly with the 11 ecm? Or would you need the dash harness and ecm?
Im not super worried about but it would be nice to have if we do trade it in.
As Matt stated, he is working on it. I myself got Matt's modified switch, but I have removed the resistors and am going to switch them around. I think I can get everything working as indicated except for RSM/CNCL which will turn cruise on and ON/OFF will turn it off.

Jim .. I assume Tech needs to install the ABS module into car to load the AS-BUILT correct? Did you determine if you will be loading 2012 or 2013 As-Built? I'd also be interested in the modded Cruise Button Version 2.0 ...

Matt said he was going to provide the as built data. Don't know if it is 12 or 13. He is on holidays and is checking e-mails intermittently, so it may be a while before he checks again.

(copy pasta from zero's FS thread I accidentally posted in)
sorry to hear about your car zeroaviation.

I read through this thread and everything is pointing to swapping into 11/12. Is this a simple swap for a base 14 gt? Grab a track app/premium cluster and steering wheel switch, relearn PATS and AS BUILT data? Just plug it in?

You guys did awesome work figuring this out though.

Check to see if the abs module is the same part number. If it is, then I would think so. Otherwise track apps won't work, while the rest should. You will be the pioneer on it, though.

Good news is that it will be less of a headache than it is for 2011/12 owners.
