new TSB on front upper strut mounts
Wrong Marc! but thanks for basically saying what I said!........How many miles do you have on your (gold studs)? A component being better doesn't mean its been fixed! these strut mounts shouldn't fail with lowered springs or not, considering Ford markets a spring with a 1.5'' drop for the car!
I would think they would be fine with the Ultralites as its such a mild drop with a relatively soft initial spring rate. The poor ride of the eibachs aren't going to be any better with the caps, maybe just the noises. They ride like a dump truck and feel like they ruthlessly pound on the suspension components. I've driven half a dozen SGT's and they start bouncing just tooling in the parking lot. On the bumps its torture. Rides as rough as my RX7TT R1 did(although that didn't bounce like a lowrider pickup). I would imagine other parts are quivering in addition to the tower caps.

So the Shelby GT's have the FRPP springs which are really Eibach?

Try calling the parts guys since thats who you may deal with more being a tech?
I deal with the dealer parts for our shop on a daily bases. Either getting us parts, or them buying tires. Parts dept. will get me parts covered under warranty while I do the work, get the parts, return old parts, and they give a tech there the book hours.

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this but when I went to my service department (My dealership is a bit far to travel to often) I mentioned a clunk/chatter noise to them (I only hear it occasionally) and they mentioned that there is an actual TSB out there for this not just a quiet part replacement. I could not get the number from her but I am sure it will be on the service ticket after it's finished, if so I will post the number here. Service rep told me the parts day at least 3 days to get so I go back to them next Tuesday, I will let everyone know how it goes.

No room for movement = no clunk!
~Mike~
Was at the dealers today ,suprised and pleased to know that the TSB has been released to the Canadian dealers . Even better the service manager had ordered and received the parts and set up an appointment for next thursday for the installation. I'll let you know if it works for my stang .
Well they installed them today and the clunk is gone, I also feel that the car's handeling is stiffer. Don't know if it's just me but when I would go over bumps the car just felt to loose. Driving on the same roads today the car responded much better going over bumps and handeling overall. Anyone else have similar results? Or am I just nuts
R-code Mike, where did the teflon-lined spherical bearing get installed at, the dealer? If so, what's the part number? Just wondering, I would like to do the same to mine. Also, I've heard that the gold stud cap is still the same as the old one, just different studs, I know that the factory is still using the old one and the new one, with no particular order or care. Looks like they are using the old ones until they run out of them.
Well Guy's, After finding out the hard way that Upper Strut Mount (8R3Z-18183-B) Gold Stud, works no better on lowered stangs with a 1.5'' drop than the originals do! I have ordered a set J&M's upper strut mounts. I went with these due to the fact I like the design better and the other components I have purchased from J&M have been top notch in design and construction!
