I think you're right, also did you notice that the excess camber is gone..

I've said it 100 times, the 1.5"drop is just too **** low with no appreciable gain in handling. Its not just the strut caps, the FRPP/Eibachs just feel like they are beating the tar out of the front suspension.

Thats not what Ford racing thinks!... I've been running a 1.5 inch drop for about 3000 miles Handling is unbelievable compared to the Roush Springs I had on before! My actual drop is 1.4 in the rear 1.6 in the front! but these are www.groundforce.com Springs. The shorter spring doesn't damage the Factory strut mounts the problem is the fact that the shorter spring hight doesn't put enough counter tension on the Factory mount! but that is easily corrected with a set of these!..

Just got mine back from the dealer with the TSB done and I can certainly tell a difference. The front feels so much more solid over the speed bumps in my complex. Hopefully the USMs will hold up after I lower the car next week.

My point is that the eibach/frpp springs need more then just the tower caps to stop from being noisy. All mount points, panhard bar, and steering components should be relocated when that low. Shelby GT just has the basics bolted on, and you can tell it's not done properly when you drive it. It feels like someone cut coils on a mini pickup.

Another satisfied customer!!

I just had the new TSB applied to my car. It finally sounds like the $27K new car I thought I bought a year ago. No more thunking from the strut towers when I drive over bumps in the road.

For those who haven't gone in,, what are you waiting on? Do it now.

Kevin120, I put the Steeda G-spot bar on when I installed my J&M strut mounts. The bar does seem to firm things up a little!

Well I don't know if its from years of tinkering with adjustable suspensions or from riding bikes and paying attention to every little bit of input from the front wheel, but WOW. Put in the new tower caps and the G-trac bar and it is a HUGE difference. All noises are gone, the front wheels track 100% better, turn in feels great and the K-member brace is a big, big improvement. I didn't notice how much flexing there was until its gone. Between a $60 g-trac bar and new towers on the TSB, it's an amazing improvement for virtually no money. The ultralites are a magic combo with this setup for a street car. For pre-08 models, a K-member brace is a MUST DO mod.

Huge improvement in every way. I can't see needing more in suspension unless you want to go hard core and fully change everything under the car. $200 for springs/$60 brace/and 08 tower caps completely changes this car. Ride is better, even the front feels tighter with smoother power delivery from the increase in rigidity of the K member. For something that would be minute at best improvements if measured, the tactile feel of the car is night and day.

What's the part # for that bar, and will it fit a 2007 coupe? Do I just need to add bolts, washers, and nuts? What does Steeda and other aftermarket vendors call this bar?

What are the pros and cons to installing this bar on a pre-08 coupe?

The G-trac comes with two bolts ready to go. It mounts on the two bolts that share one each of the two a-arm rear bushing mounts. On the left side of the brace in the photo, the bolt that is coming up right out what looks like a heat shield just in front of the stock bar's bolts is the one that is used. Any part's department can find the lower brace in the exploded view of the front suspension, just tell them to check an 08 or any convertible. All S-197's have this mount point already on the K-member. They will list the bolts used too. I didn't bother pricing it as someone said it's expensive and the chrome moly bar from Steeda is hella beefier. Not to mention it mounts RIGHT at the point of stress from the lower control arms themselves.

G-trac is shown on this thread:

http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...ation-pix.html

All I know is this:
After getting the tower caps and the G-trac

Chuckling-jittering-chattering feeling in any sort of uneven washboard pavement-100% gone
Any sense of binding from quickly going from to full lock and out(i.e. parking)-100% gone
Any squidgy noises over speed bumps or weight transitions such as braking-100% gone
Any thunking up front from lifting throttle abruptly or after releasing from a hard stop-100% gone
Initial turn in sluggishness and on-center vaugeness-100% gone
Going into a fast smooth dip and feeling a slight bit of bump-steer/vagueness-100% gone
Not to mention the overall quietness of bumps, uneven pavement, and expansion joints at speed.
If you pay very close attention you can feel the suspension actually moving crisply, where before you could feel a lot of it getting absorbed into the strut caps and chattering-although the steering wheel would not transmit the sloppy feeling to your hands.

I had my G-Trac brace installed last year in an attempt to quiet down the front suspension before the re-engineered upper mounts were available. It didn't make the noise go away, but I could tell the brace was there. Here are a couple pics:

Does it block the engine oil drain plug? Is there any chance of elongating the bolt holes on the LCAs?

nope and nope. Its between the oil pan and the bellhousing, not under it. It shares one of the holes in the K-member with the bracket that holds the control arm rear bushing in place, so no worries.

Can the g-trac bar be installed on ramps or does sit have to be on jackstands? Is it fairly easy to do? If not, how much will install cost me?
