What he said, where are you guys getting all the pics?

It seems that the general concensus is disappointment. That's fine, maybe I'll be able to get one on X-plan. If you could get Chamois interior on it, my GT would already be for sale.

Oh, that makes more sense. Thanks for clearing it up.

That CAI is cool! Look like Ford racing (from that other thread) will be definately selling it.

I am not a big fan of the stripped down look, so the Bullitt never really appealed to me. But......with starting MSRP $31,075 and with all the Ford Racing stuff, I can see why fans of the Bullitt style would like this car. I know I would like to test drive one. Plus, its cheaper than a Shelby GT!

I guess what I am trying to say is that it is unique and nicely priced. Not my style, but a nice Mustang regardless.

Pretty sure we are getting the GT500 wheel, the car from Ford's media pictures seems incomplete or a pre-release model, the wheel is wrong, the instrument panel is wrong, and they didn't release any pictures of the seats. The ones tested by motortrend and all these other places i believe is very close to the production car. So we will get the GT500 wheel. This also explains why Ford Racing just released a GT500 wheel with black stitching instead of red stitching recently.

hmmm.....Overall I like it though IMHO it needs:

Midwest mirror covers, SHR louvers, billet raditor cover, the grill needs to be more open (though it was OK when I seen it by it's self but on the actual car not so much), the PTP (premier Trim Package) is needed badly for this, I never thought it mattered until I seen it. It helps tone down the plastic interior and would look great on the bullitt. other then that I like it sure the dash is not for everyone (I still prefer my Dark IUP) but it's retro. In all honestly all my complaints can be "fixed" by owners (providing they are willing to mod this proposed collectors car.)

The car MT used must have all the available options including the navigation system. Price is really no different to a California Special that is at a dealer in my region. That has a list of over $34,000 and is a manual.

I wonder what happened to the original spec sheet that stated that the Bullitt was to have an upgraded steering system (whatever that was)? I thought they would've tweeked the steering ratio or something. Also, the space between the tail lights was supposed to be charcoal gray, but is now just the color of the car (hhmmmmm...).
Will one expect to get 325HP by simply using premium fuel, or does the car have to be re-calibrated for it?
The engine-turned dash is not new of course, as I first saw one very similar on a 1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk! This may take time to get used to though.
The Bullitt is still a great bargain though. I think Ford realizes that many owners will be modding them (just like the 01's), so they kept the price low and extras sparse. A great job overall!! And for those that want extra HP, just take the savings and start boosting it with a S/C. Then you'll have a real sleeper...............

I'll be interested to hear what the exhaust note is like. Ford said in it's release article I read on this thread that they modeled the exhaust note after the sound of the car in the movie. If they made a factory 4.6 mod motor sound like a 390 big block with headers and no cats I think they should be up for the nobel prize in science.

See my response on page 10 lol...Im definitely with you here!

Bottom line is, I feel it is just a GT wearing V6 body panels. I pretty much expected Ford would put out a bland looking Mustang with a couple extra ponies, and better suspension for the Bullitt because well- they've done it before.. (Read: 2001 Bullitt)

With that said however, I feel they will sell like Hot-Cakes and the dealers are going to have a 'Hay-Day' with mark up, especially considering how the market has reacted to the Retro-Styling of the new stangs.

Do I think Ford should be shamed for bringing back yet another special edition Mustang? Not so much. Do I think they should be shamed for introducing another Mustang where the only thing separating it from your 'Run-of-the-Mill' GT is the Name? Yes.

For what you pay for (ADM not withstanding) you get a great car.
If i didn't have an S197 already or wasn't waiting on the redesign/return of the 5.0...I'd get one.

The front grille really does look blank though....
Without any vents to even out the preasure, i'm sure thats the reason for the ultra blocked out grille. (just like on the GT/v6)

To avoid lift and control airflow into the engine compartment. Without the fogs it looks weird, nothing to hide the blocked parts of honeycomb.

With that engine/spark management system...is the 315hp rated on premium fuel or standard 87 octane?
Cool that it can automatically sense and adapt. Would be curious to see on a dyno how much it changes exactly.
I'm with you all the way. The only thing I wish Ford would have done differently, at this price point, is the inclusion of the GT/CS SGT front fascia. IMHO the stealthy grille would have worked much better with that more aggresive front air dam in place. But that is a relatively inexpensive fix and would by no means keep me from buying the car.
