Changes internal to the motor, not the tune.

Alright. There's a thread here about 8 hp at the flywheel. Come on guys, I promise that there are some new GT's with 10-20 more hp than the car right next to it. Pick a new topic guys.

According to Overboost, there was a hardware change.

The difference in power is just at the threshold of percievable (2% being the rule of thumb) but still...people on here don't blink at spending $400 (plus voiding their warranty) for 20hp. So it is interesting.

If the 2013 5.0 has the forged internals... I'll puke.

economies of scale says transplanting the Boss pistons would lower costs and maybe make it feasible.....

hopefully too if they tweaked the engine they eliminated whatever was causing that tick on a few ppls cars.

It gets it from the same place that the 2010 Mustang GT got its extra 15hp, 08-09 Bullit got its extra 12hp, and the 07-08 Shelby GT got its 19 extra hp..........a couple degress of timing in the tune........argue away!!!!

I hear you on that one. If the gt came forged, I would definitely be shopping soon. Coyote blown is impressive.

A lot of folks are making jokes about an increase of just 8hp, but worth keeping in mind here IMO is the reality that even small power improvements often signify a meaningful change/improvement in the power band. Torque curvesd can get flatter, etc. I honestly have no idea whatsoever if this is the case here, and I haven't even bothered too look at the 2013 peak power rpm numbers to see if they may have changed giving us any clues. My only point here is that, sometimes, 8hp isn't just 8hp....and then sometimes it is.

I am very curious to see what has changed to create the power improvement here.
