I'm out of the waiting pool! We just drove an hour to a top dealership to buy a 2011 at an excellent deal! lots o' rebates. We pick up on Monday...and stop for a fresh baked pie on the way home!
Can't belive that black stripe we didn't want on the pony package comes off! But i think we'll leave it..
The other manager finally admitted we were looking at 2 or 3 more months for our 2012. He was mad he was going to lose our business but we can't wait that long! the 2011 was built in December so that's not tooo old..

That plant didn't make parts for the mustang. Only for the Mazda 6.

It did make parts for multiple cars. But not any for the mustang. Only the Mazda 6 was affected by the fire. The mustang has been affected by unrelated parts shortages.

Because that's how long it takes. I ordered in 1-31 and don't have a build date yet. Most people wait 8-12 weeks for their cars.

There's a ton of orders for cars and the process takes a while to get through.

His dealer edited a dealer stock order before it was pulled for production. They had a similar car already ordered and just made a few revisions to make it like he wanted.

Your order, like mine and many others is a retail order.

Yea, i feel your pain. The dealer had my car specd up probably jan 7 or so, and they put the order in the first day they were able to, so got a tracking number Jan 13. My car was built yesterday i believe, eta is 4/17. I will say it would be nice to have it before 4/20

My dealer already had 3 2012 GT Coupe Premiums with 400A, Brembo, and 3.73 with black exterior and black interior on order for his stock. That was what I wanted, just a different exterior color. He just changed one to Kona Blue instead of Black so he didn't have to make a whole new order. I got really lucky on that one.

Here we go again,,seems ford ironicly has too many mustangs piled up although our retail orders are not filled. this is because the "OK to buy" wasnt achieved before they started filling retail orders. Now they will shut down for at least a week. Unreal

As hard as it is to wait - and remember, I'm driving a '97 Civic sedan until my new baby gets here - I'd rather have a car that was through whatever QC Ford felt was necessary than one of the first ones off the line. I couldn't put more than 1/10 of a gallon of gas at a time in my '05 because of the fuel tank problem.

I bet it's nicer than my '03 Odyssey with 221k hard miles on it! If I wasn't able to commute to work 2 days a week in the wife's 5.0 I'd go nuts!

I feel your pain. The Civic is in pretty good shape for 230k miles, but I really hope my 'stang gets here before air conditioner season starts or I'll have to choose between comfort and "power". Such as it is...
