My car is still showing as "in production". I have a sad image in my head of it sitting there half built. Of course, I don't know what Ford's definition of "in production" is.

Ford has also pushed the estimated delivery to 4/27. I really hope it doesn't take that long to get 2.5 hours down the highway. Too bad they won't let me just go and get it.

Maybe too much work answering all of our emails and getting all the information that we, "Mustang" fanatics, want to know... Alot of hard work Patience is needed even if it's getting harder and harder

I ordered a black V6 on 3/14, received my VIN, window sticker, and build date of 4/12 (originally 4/4). I stopped by the dealer last night and he pulled up my order. The ETA says 4/21, and it says my car is in production. Does anyone know how long it takes to build a Mustang after production starts? Also, my dealer is 20 miles from the plant, will that speed up delivery?

About 32 hours to built (they run 8 hour shifts) so about 3 days.

Being close to the plant will definitely work in your favor

I am becoming convinced never to preorder a car again. You won't get it any fast than the people who order it 3 months later.

If I had known it was going to take this long (got my order# 1/13) I probably would have gotten a gti, or a used gli. Don't understand why dealers were told to say 4-6 weeks as its getting close to 12 weeks. But I think I'll be happy with 305 hp as opposed to 200....though I wish I could get a dsg, or at least manual control over the automatic...

Our dealer emailed us this afternoon and said our Mustang is "lined up to pull" this week. I asked for clarification on what "lined up to pull" meant, and he said it meant it will get a VIN and build date.

This really excited us, and I hope he knows what he is talking about. He says he has several customer orders in the works and is monitoring things daily for all of us.

We cannot wait to get an email back from him with an official VIN and build date.

I think this has been the hardest few days of my 4 month wait. I think the car has made it to the dealer as I seen about 4 5.0 in the back lot on my way home.

My sales guy is off on Tuesdays so I didn't get a call and was hard not to stop and ask. I will hope to get the call tomorrow.

I don't know how you resisted that temptation. I guess it would've been hard to stop by and see it and not bring it home. I plan on being there the moment it comes off the truck. This is the first car I've bought and I CAN'T wait It is, however, the best motivation for my last college semester lol

EDIT: though sometimes I end up looking at these forums too much when I should be studying

So you were given a build date of 4/11, but no window sticker yet? That doesn't sound promising. I'm pretty sure someone with a 4/15 build date got their window sticker a couple of days ago.

My build date is supposed to be 4/18, but I'll believe it when I see my window sticker. My dealer called on Friday and was told my ETA is 5/2 which could jive with a 4/18 build date.

In the mean time, I'm also hoping to hear back from Deysha with an update.

I was first told my build date and build week was 4/4, then 4/11. My window sticker showed up and said 4/15. I ordered in Nov. I know Ford really should have built them earlier, but at this point, the long part of the wait is over. It will be soon, so it is better to wait than to settle for something less than what you want. If I could have found what I wanted earlier, that would be different.

My window sticker showed up last Sunday. I did check Friday and Saturday, but for some weird reason, it was not there until Sunday.

Just got off the phone with CS. Like many others last week it was changed from 4/4 to 4/14 and an ETA of 5/5. Today they say the status is "In production" with an ETA of 5/8 but were unable to give me an actual build date. Anyone else experience this? seems odd there would be no build date. This whole process is confusing.
