My dealer's suggestion is to do the paperwork on September 30th - the Friday before the week the car is scheduled to be build. That way, all the coupons/rebates in play will be valid. I'm skeptical about this approach. What if the car doesn't get built (again)? What if it's delivered at a later date and damaged? And what are the chances that a new incentive better than the current incentives is announced in October?

Yeah, your dealer is a straight up ****. I wouldn't sign ANY paperwork until the car is there and you do a full inspection of it. Make your lazy dealer call their Ford rep and get the $750 private cash coupon locked in. It really is that simple.

Got good news today my order was finaly pulled got a vin and build week just curious as to when i get an eta build week is oct 3 rd

 

Finally A VIN 58919, have to check back as I dont see a window sticker yet

 

I got a build day of 3 Oct 2011 and ETA of 19 Oct 2011 (subject to change).

First ETA was 10/5, then 10/14, now it's 10/21! I know the vehicle's been produced and last I heard it was somewhere in Ohio -- build date was 9/29. Why does it keep getting pushed back?

After reading most of this insanely long thread it's clear you've gone above and beyond to be helpful. Certainly moreso than my sales guy, whose only response thus far is to tell me to make sure I bring my checkbook when it finally shows up. Then he goes back to eating his lunch. Hardly the kind of answer I'm looking for.

Any ideas if/when this thing is gonna arrive?
