Nice! I don't know why I assumed they repaired the old ones, which would've been more work for them especially with those wheels (I have the same ones).

Looks Good! From the pics it seems like the did a great job!

I hope StarFarm treated you OK other than the insistance on recycled parts.

I have statefarm as well (10+ years). I remember years ago I was in an accident that wasn't my fault. Its was my first (only) accident and I was concerned about being screwed over by the other insurance company due to lack of knowledge. So I called my Rep to have them give me some pointers...They wanted me to pay my deductable before they would even talk to me.... I should have switched then...at least they didnt run up my rates when I got my last ticket.

Not quite sure what you're saying here....a deductible is taken after you've filed the claim and received a check for damages. You don't physically turn over any money to the carrier....your payment is simply reduced by the amount of the deductible.

Exactly, they were trying to tell me if I wanted them to get involved I would have to file a claim.

I didnt want them to "get involved" in any legal sense, just to coach me through the process of dealing with the other Insurance company since I had zero experience doing so.

Either they totally misunderstood what I was asking for or it was their way of getting me to go away.

It's water over the dam now, but there's nothing legally wrong with filing a claim and not accepting payment. You basically could have navigated through the whole claim process and just not completed the last step. In fact, that's the advice I gave to my customers when I was working and continue giving to friends and family now. There are so many things that could go wrong when filing against the other company that it's always a good idea to put your company on notice immediately and keep your options open. You pay a premium for fair claims handling and advice.

No two claims are ever alike, and it was my job to give the best professional advice based on the customer's individual circumstance. Claims aren't a "one size fits all" deal.

It sounds like your claim rep was lazy, incompetent, stupid, or all three.
