Blue Coupe!!! Spy Shots!!
Looks like that interior is getting a pretty significant makeover, too. Wonder if they'll borrow inspiration from another period in Mustang history, say like '69 to '72?
The blue concept is clearly the best shots we have gotten so far. Headlights are growing on me but I'm reserving judgement on the rear - not sold yet. Like the integrated third brake light though
Maybe it's just me but i'm not feeling the Guigario influence. From what i remember the Guigario wasnt that well received by most Mustang loyalists i'm wondering why they chose to take so much from it.
Then again i remember when the 99' new edge first came out and not liking it (i don't think i was alone either). after a year or two went by (plus the extra 35HP boost in the GT) i started liking it a lot more in fact i like the 99-04 model more than the 94-98.
anyways i guess what im saying is please give the GT more HP and make the next SVT attainable and the new looks i dont like may grow on me

it's basically a refresh kinda like the switch from 98 to 99. The basic frame is the same but different body panels and revised interior. I'm also guessing that the car will be tweaked for more power, better handling, braking etc.... like when the 99 came out. The next major restyle is suppost to come out in 2012 but who knows the real deal as far as the time frame goes.

I prefer to consider it as a restyle of the current S-197. As not only will every body panel be changed, with the exception of the current greenhouse. But this time around. The changes also include hips being added to the quarter panels, along with getting an all new interior.
That being said. the 2010 restyle will be more intense, than the last re-fresh that took place in 99

So far, love the front end, love the profile, don't like the tails yet at all, not completely sold on the hips though although I like the idea. Hope they do something more interesting with the lines on the hood.
I love the rear view mirrors, and if the door dimensions are the same, there will be a pair on my '08 in the future (same thing with the glass roof with retractable sunshade if I can get one). But I'm not as much of a purist as others.
I'm not sure the Guigiaro is necessarily the way to go but I will say this. I hope they cool it a little bit with all the retro, and for that, I like the Guigiaro, not because it's great but because it's edgy. The Mustang has to go forward at some point doesn't it? They made changes in the 60's and 70's that were new and untested, and (some of the time) not necessarily based on the inspiration of a previous model, along with the Fox and Sn95. So why not now? I hope they do something new and edgy and aren't afraid to step out of being conservative (I know that's dangerous with the Mustang faithful :cough: :cough: Probe :cough
, but to me that's what makes memorable cars and not forgettable cars. Besides, I don't want to see a retro Mustang II...no offense II owners...
just my $ 0.02...

I did wonder that too, but I convinced myself it wouldn't as the car isn't due to hit the streets until mid-late '09.
However, 2 things are making me think there's a remote chance of a Detroit showing:
1 - GM have now release "official" pictures of a pre-production Camaro
2 - The Mustang mules are obviously out and about and development must be quite advanced.
To be honest, I'm quite enjoying the teasing from Brenda Priddy and Ford. I'd much rather we see the final car no more the 12 months before it goes on sale. Unlike GM who are making Camaro fans wait 3 years!
However, there was always talk the current bodystyle would receive a Mach1 SE. Surely with the 2010 mules running around, time is running out for a Mach1?

notice the similarities in this mule's wheels to the Giugario wheels...

if it looks andthing close to that hunk of metal im not buying.
I really like what I am seeing! I was upset at first that I missed out on the '05, but now I am not so sure, looks to be an improvement about all over to these eyes, but I will wait to make a final judgement.
