The GT with the available options is going to be a dandy for the enthusiasts and bad news for the aftermarket.

I think perhaps the strut brace bar is standard on the Convertable? I just saw this........
Mustang GT convertible models feature enhanced structural rigidity, with lateral stiffness improved by 12 percent versus the 2010 model. A tower-to-tower front strut brace is now standard, and the V-brace has been stiffened by adding gussets. The secondary crossmember also has been stiffened while a front Z-brace has been added, connecting primary and secondary crossmembers. A-pillar stiffening foam also has been added to increase rigidity.

Don't know about the first one, but the 2nd one. No. In the pics released of the Race Red 2011 GT, it doesn't show it. It will probably be standard on cars equipped with 19" wheels, like it is now.
I'm going to bet that the Brembo Package does take the place of the Track Pack though. I hope it's available with the Glass Roof, unlike now!

Yeah, I'm convincing myself it's OK to buy another one, because I plan to drive this next one for 10-15 years (unless Ford comes out with something ridiculous in 2014 - like a 550hp GT, forcing me to buy it - and if they do, screw you Ford, really, I'm not made of money, stop it!

Also, my $12k figure is based on me selling the car in early 2011 (1-1.5 years from now), with an extra year of depreciation + competition from both used 2010's and new 2011's. I figure I'd have to buy mid-way into the model year when the ADM's (if any) go away and rebates kick in - and maybe some fixes to any glaring technical issues found in the first few months.

That is funny...I said the same thing when I bought my 07. Yes, Ford sure makes us want to spend our money...You have to admit, this is one Nice Machine...P.S My 07 needs a good home...

Well, it's a super-conservative estimate so I don't get a bad surprise - realistically I'm hoping for $15k-17k.
Here's my reasoning though:
Right now, you can find 2006 GT's for $15k-20k, depending on mileage. I plan to get a 2011 GT in Dec 2010 - early 2011. I figure our cars should be valued around today's 2006-2007 prices.. so $15k-22k.
BUT, if you factor in the fact that there will then be a significant number of used 2010's for sale (compared to now) - and also the fact that a brand new +100hp engine is out for the 2011, I would not be surprised to see a few grand lower.
So realistically, I imagine I'd see anywhere between $12k and maybe $19k for my 2008 GT in early 2011. Just telling myself $12k to make sure I'm financially prepared - not to scare other 08 owners.

The best thing about the new 2011 GT is watching the denial that's going on in the Camaro forums. It's hilarious!! They're claiming that the Mustang will add 300-400 lbs and not be competitive with the Camaro. I can't wait until spring to see what happens on the track!!

Unfortunately the press release also shows that the non Brembo package brakes are 11.5" front and 11.8" rear..
This has to be an error...I believe that is the brakes for the V6 not the V8. I believe currently aren't they like 12.4" or something of that size??
The Brembos are 14" as the press release says as they are probaby from the GT500.

When something really good comes out all the jealous people look for any defect to make them feel good...I Love sports cars, all of them...The Mustang just does it for me...

My 07 GT had horrible throttle dead-space and lots of GT owners complain about throttle lag.
The ADM's are also a good reason to avoid first model year releases, but you have to give the OEMs a good 3+ MYs to fix problems. The revised 3V spark plugs are a good example of this.
FWIW I'm going to wait for some solid testing and reviews to see how the '11 GT pans out. The hype and speculation has been overdone ad nauseam for practically everything we see/use on a daily basis (iPhone, iPad, etc...) Just show us the goods.

So, must have been a glitch the other day when 3.73's wouldn't show up in the premium & cal special trims.
