Excellent data point, Pan. (Do you have a significant other named Cat?)
Will make you an honorary member of FEPC.

You’re welcome, Stjayp36!

Are blend numbers sequential and do they actually indicate the order in which the cars will build (or at least very close)?
Does Flat Rock run one or two shifts? And, based on the 10 hour days, is it a four day work week?
Wouldn't it be cool for there to be a web cam at the end of the assembly line where the cars are first turned over??? (hint)
We understand if some of these cannot be answered.
Monday would be when they finish building, Kairho.
No, those numbers mean nothing on the production line.
We’re running one shift at the plant and it runs 5 days a week.
Yes, it would be awesome to have a web cam at the assembly line.

Nothing yet, werdna65. PM me next week. For an update.

Thanks, tukatz!

regional allocation SUCKS. florida sells mustangs year round, they can cut in line in front of high priority orders from up north forever...I'd ordered mine the day the 2006 order banks opened, my vin finally got assigned months later-34068- but that one got smashed unloading it from the hauler...the 06 I finally got was like 48,000 ish vin, didnt memorize it

if you are in the south, you have no worries- actually as low as sales have slipped compared to 05/06, you could be in Alaska and have no worries

full info on ordering was found and pasted here:
http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums...tion-problems/

read thru that very lengthy pasting in the first post, and you'll get a excellent idea of how the whole thing works...boring, but interesting.

I dug/hunted everywhere trying to figure out bits and pieces of how dealer ordering works, then found that article from a truck dealer that explained it all in full detail...

read the last few posts in the thread, theres been some headway made, but some of it is temporary...the NADA has a stranglehold on Ford in that dealers are the customer in their eyes, kinda tying fords hands on scheduling due to bad agreements over the years. retails should be accepted first come-first served, but it often dont work that way- not even close...at least its getting better.

the thread below that one I'd spent a lot of time in too...'KZINTI' was a member at blue oval that started the real customer service stuff- he was just a guy on the floor at a plant, but he and a few cohorts started researching internal info that IS available, but not to dealers, and started doing stuff like getting us impatient waiters our window stickers soon as the thing hit 'blend', a couple weeks before the car would even be built...Deysha and the ford social folks helping on various forums are all offshoots of KZINTIs work back in 04~whenever it was ford pulled the plug on him. still think that guy (or gal?) shoulda been put in charge of customer service- at least Ford listened and did something in that direction- Deysha and others have been a huge help to many, its cool to have 'a friend at the factory'
So since I ordered my gt500 from a small dealer in western PA I can expect to get my car towards the end of the build run? That is a huge bummer. Even though it is a retail build priority 10... disheartening for sure.

Hey guys,

I was checking the Mustang GT specs over this link:
https://themustangsource.com/vindecoder.php?vin=

It's showing this:

Front Brake Rotor Diam x Thickness 14.0 x 1.26, 13.2 x 1.4 in ????

So I wonder which one is it? Keep in mind that the one on the rear has a different value...

When I go there it has the front and rear on two lines:
Code:
...
Disc - Rear (Yes or ) Yes
Front Brake Rotor Diam x Thickness 12.4 x 1.4 in
Rear Brake Rotor Diam x Thickness 11.8 x 0.75 in
Fuel Tank Capacity, Approx 16.0 gal (16.0 min/16.0max)
...

But has anyone else noticed this:

Tech Specs

Manufactured By

Suspension Type - FrontMacPherson Strut
Suspension Type - RearIndependent

I rather doubt that the rear suspension is independent on a 2014.

Maybe the 2 front numbers are for Brembo & standard?

Solved that easily. You got yours from the Summary tab (down in the Tech Specs section). I went to the Tech Specs tab for mine.

So now we have five completely different values!

I got the same values on both tabs (Summary and Tech Specs).

Wait...we have different models. You are (or will be) in a GT and I have a V6 Conv. I guess those values could be different. Do you get the extra value in both places (both tabs)?

Did you read thru that blueoval thread? thes a lot of 'stuff' in there about how it all works...The demand is nothing today compared to the backlog in 04-06 or so, hopefully they will get you scheduled soon. Once you get a VIN it used to be just 2-3 weeks till it was built/shipped. Regional 'turn and earn' volumes for mustang always favors southern dealers that sell them all year, up here in snow country, not many are sold over winter...gives Florida a big advantage as far as allocation leverage. If demand is low, it's never a problem, but if a high demand exists, there's only so many to go around, and first come- first served isn't how they do it

Hey guys, I'm Scott. I ordered a 2014 mustang a few weeks ago. I just wanted to share with you guys that my build date is also 02-11-2013. My blend number is 2326 if that means anything.

So I guess I'm asking permission to join your Pony Club

Welcome to the club, Scott. Give us some details on the Mustang you ordered, please, and where are you located?

Definitely, I live in Indiana. I ordered a Grabber Blue, V6 MCA edition Mustang, 6spd. I have never ordered a new car before, I've always been able to find what I'm looking for on the lot. I have a 25 mile commute to work, and I wanted something fun to drive.

I'm trading in my 2006 F150. I'm going to miss having a truck, but I hate getting 12 MPG's.

I'm definitely looking forward to owning my first mustang though. It should definitely be a fun driver
