Full Billet Switch Plates:...Please...

Now if we sent our parts offshore and then just relabeled them when they got here (not saying anyone is doing that in the industry, but...) I'm sure it wouldn't matter!
I hear you, but finishing time=cost, and I don't have an army of Chinese workers to do it for 1.00 a day here stateside...

personally, i like the stripes. gives it more visual interest without being over the top. also kind of ties in to the seat belt mount surround thingy....
although, it would be easier to get a better feel without the camoflauge.

I kinda like the stripes. I'm trying to picture it in my head what they look like without the cow print and it looks like it might be nice. Sorta like racing stripes (I wonder if the'y make the windows go down faster...) Plus it sets them apart from those that have the plastic piece painted.
Maybe make two prototypes and post pictures side by side?
Also, you mentioned something about the sides? Are you thinking similar to the sides of the shifter bezel? I think on that one I'd prefer the sides stay smooth to match the lines on the arm rest (JMHO).

Here it is without the camo, but the finish isn't "done" - but it will be made to match our other parts.
On the sides, we're going to do a single stripe, we can't do the normal "serration" cuts because the side is at an angle, and not vertical - the tool isn't capable of cutting on the angle without adding another 50-60k of parts to our CNC mill.... which isn't happening today
This stripe will be a little smaller than the ones on the top, but will have the rounded walls on it, and only be ~.020" deep.
We didn't make one without the stripes, so currently I don't have one to photograph without it.

I was expecting 100+ a set to be honest. And thats fine with me. However how much the plus is, is what scares me a bit.
With ought the camo, the stripes do look great. However a nice satin finish with no stripes is what im looking for. Nice looking parts, now make some satin parts like the speaker grille (not those cheesy screw on types), and the door lock and it might looks quite nice.

You know I've wanted to do the speaker grills for a while, but imagine the size piece we'd start with to make a complete part. Compare that to our fuel door, then figure out the price... they would be beautiful pieces, but terribly expensive, and I don't know if there is a market for 250.00+ speaker grills, because that is easily where they would end up. I even thought about a 2 piece design, but nobody makes tube with the wall thickness we'd need for the outer ring, so you have to start from solid or do a custom extrusion, both very expensive propositions.
