Post your stripes
Not my car. As you'll notice since I started this thread, every once in a while I'll post a link to other people's cars so all the striped cars are in one place.
Is yours in this thread, Jim?

when you guys get your stripes painted are you having the windshield and back glass removed so the paint goes under the glass trim? A friend of mine got a quote to have his stripes painted on. He was quoted $2,600.00 canadian funds. They said they needed to remove the bumpers, hood, trunk and glass to do it right. They would have to paint the primary colours on the bumper first, refit, mark the stripes, remove the bumpers and repaint. Sounds like a lot of work to me but if you want it done right I guess that is the way.

I think that is overkill. When I had mine painted they removed the front and rear bumpers as well as the spoiler. I only had the top of the windshield painted since the car is a vert but they were able to tape the rubber back and paint. It looks totally custom. I paid under $800.00 and had three other quotes in that range. I think $2600 is rape. Heck have your friend bring your car to Troy's custom and spend the rest of the money in Vegas which is only 100 miles away.
here's a quick question i have, I have a Mineral Grey GT Vert with a Black Side stripes and a black Vert Top. I'm debating back and forth back and forth if i should get the stripes or not. I just am wondering if it would be to overpowering the primary Mineral Grey. and I would want a thick stripe 10.5 maybe. So I'm looking for some opinions to help me decide. Thanks for the input.
Thought some of you might find this of interest (especially those with LeMans stripes)

I put the side stripes on last evening - took about an hour per side.
Got them from Baltimore Street Mods.
Ordered the main body stripe kit last night - 10" LeMans. Hope to have them by the weekend.

I plan on supercharging it and this way I won't have to change the stripe...
I kicked around GT 350 for a while. The 500 just seemed to stick with me. I know I will catch some poo for it. Oh well.
Regardless, right or wrong - this is ultimately the look I am going for...
Guys,
Had to wait to get my hands on a digital camera before posting pics of my stripes. After having no luck finding an installer in NJ to do the work I resorted to doing it myself. I went with the Graphics Express Lemans and side stripe kits. The Lemans stripes are tapered, starting at 10" at the front of the hood and going up to 12" at the base of the hood. It wasn't that bad - took me around five evenings between cleaning and applying the vinyl. The hard part was doing the front bumper, because that kit doesn't supply those pieces. Just went down to the local sign shop, got some automotive grade vinyl, and went to town. Luckily I'm pretty handy with a razor blade (build a lot of RC airplanes...).
You'll notice that I also replaced the GT emblems with some displacement emblems. For some reason it really bugged me that I had GT twice in the same general area!!!
BTW, this is also after two coat of Zaino. Couldn't show her until that was done!
