Mine should be here first week of June also. I'm having it shipped to a body shop at the race track. I'm going to have the hole's from the stock spoiler welded in and the entire car wet sanded and buffed. Johnny, who is doing your body work? What are you expecting to pay?
Frank's Mercedes and then to Silver Lake Auto Body. Let me know how the wet sanding goes.

According to my source, the 3dCARBON "Boy Racer" hood vents will be functional:

The vents on the hood will be open. Open vents will make the hood somewhat functional for heat release/cooling.[/quote]Anticipated release is "sometime this summer"...

Right on Johnny! I just talked to Wes about an hour ago and he said mine has also shipped. I can't wait to put this bad boy on!! Luckily my stripe shop is right next to the body shop, so it should go smoothly....I hope.

Lucky lou,
I just noticed you are from Houston also.
Were are you taking your hood when it comes in to get it fitted and painted?
What side of town are you on? I'm in the Southbelt area.
Make sure you post lots of pics when it comes in.
Maybe we can get together.
There seem to be a few of us here from Houston.

Hey Steve,

I'm probably going to take her over to Pinnacle Auto Body - they're on the west side - kind of by Greens rd. & Beltway 8. I know a couple guys over there & they've done excellent work for me before. I'm on the SW side of town off of hwy 6. As soon as I get all the work done -- I'll post pics.

Lou

For those looking for an picture of this hood installed - I believe a guy who posted on "photos of yours" has installed this hood on both his '05's. Could be a different hood, but I'll let you all be the judge (maybe if he sees this, he can comment).

These cars are beautiful, btw - love the continuity between them - they're the same, but different - similar hoods, wings, chins, etc., but completely differnet looks. Just a georgeous pair of sisters..

That's NOT the RKSport California Dream hood!

I just got off the phone with Mo and he confirmed that one above is from a different company.

RKSport's is bulkier and sits way higher back at the cowl. They've made room for a supercharger...

Just got back from the bodyshop. My hood has arrived!! The guy's at the bodyshop and myself went over this hood with a fine tooth comb. I was not going to spend a fortune rebuilding a new hood like Bryan had to do. I must say the finish on the hood is great! More importantly the bodyshop owner said it was an excellent finish and will take very minor sanding to prep for paint. I'm going back tomorrow to get it fitted. We checked the corner's and the scoop's, they were very clean and correct in deminsion. We also took overall measurment's and it should fit great! So far so good, I should know more tomorrow... This hood is wicked, the perfect hood for this car IMO...

Several folks asked the owner of the 2 05 Stangs about the hood and his answer was that he performed the customization of the hoods. I'm guessing they're stock hoods...

I also pre-ordered the California Dream Hood, they say it should ship next week hopefully.

Can I BEG you for some information/help PLEASE !!!! I'm a little conservative and a little concerned about the height of the hood "bulge" in the middle of the hood. I couldn't get a good feel from the pictures on RK's website but I LOVE the scoops in the front (they were what sold me on the hood - like the concept car).

How much higher is the "bulge" in the middle of the hood verses the factory hood ?? Is there anyway you could take a measurement from the flat side portion of the hood next to the fender and measure the height from the top of the bulge, pull a level string across the top of the bulge or a lazer level line and take a measurement, etc.

Your help and information will be GREATLY APPRECIATED !!!

Craig - In this thread regarding the hood [ http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index....owtopic=26316#, Redfire 05GT claims:
The RKSport California Dream Hood has a very high profile. The cowl sits 3" taller than a stock hood. Apparently they've made room for a supercharger under it.
We were also seriously considering this hood but now we've decided against it because of the height of the cowl. Hope this helps...
