Simply breathtaking... Mine has been delayed until Tuesday. :bang: My painter said he want's it to be perfect. I asked him if he could match orange peel LOL. On a side note my Motive 3.90 gear's arrived, I'll have something to play with until my hood is done. Thank's for posting the pic's Lou! It will help me get by until next week.

Lucky Lou your car looks awsome, you are indeed lucky!! You know of all the hoods and looks I have seen for the 05 this hood just looks like it should have come from the factory that way dont you all agree? I mean its a perfect match of the early prototype we all fell in love with. Its definitley the best looks hood for the 05.

Justin gald to hear from you again, I cant wait to see how your car will look with the stripes on this hood. I wish I had money to add one but Ill have to wait for a while. I think with the scoops on this hood , the stripes would look good coming from the scoops like some one posted the silver with black stripes. You would have wider stripes to match the scoops, but I think it would look so mean and awsome, deffinitley different

Ok Tim, I will disagree with you, Yes it does look awesome indeed but I think the other RK sport hood looks even better on the 05, and if they can iron out the problems, that is what I will have on my 05...JMO
Congrats Lou, very nice

Holy...........

Those pics make me happy in the pants........

NICE ride Lou!!

Jay - you are next!!

I'm headed over to my brothers later today - he's got my hood waiting for me in his garage - can't wait to go take a look!

And I agree about how well this suits the car - this was always the kind of hood I wanted since I got the car. The first Dark Knight (my bros 89 vert GT) had a similar aftermarket hood and since I was always carrying on his tradition, I wanted something close - and now I got it... (just gotta get the durn thing ON the car.... )

The hood looks great Lou.
I hope to have mine installed this weekend. Need someone to help me put it on.
This is one that you can't do alone. After I fit the hood I will take it to the dealer to get it painted and then install it on the car. Hopefully this will be before next weekend.

Lou, Jay
Did you drill the hood stick hole? Also did you put the rubber gasket back on the back of the hood with 3M or drill the holes and install it like stock?
I don't know if I want to put the hood insulation back on or not.
If I do I will have to cut out the section over the filter.
Did anyone else do this yet?

Steve

The bodyshop cut a hole on the underside for the prop rod. I'm not installing the rubber seal on the back in the hopes that it will aid in venting hot air from the engine compartment. I am also hoping it will help keep the hood down. The bodyshop is finishing the underside of the hood as well, so I don't have to re-install the insulation.

I really like the way the finished product from the shop came out -- thanks to all of you who agree...

Steve -- the body shop cut the hole for my prop rod -- they also finished the underside of the hood -- I didn't put the ruber seal back on - pretty much for the same reason Vegasjay outlined earlier. I did reinstall the insulation though -- I just like the way it looks - It was a pretty simple job after I worked myself up to drilling the holes -- which was pretty easy -- just got to be careful not to apply any pressure -- btw - I still need to get you that number.

Rich --

I didn't get the grille's powder coated -- didn't even think of it really -- I just had them paint it... which looks great -- but now that you have me thinking of it -- that's something to look into. thanks

I'm going to install the rubber seal at the back because the AC draws air from the cowl there. Also helps keep the water out. Doing it with 3M so no holes needed.
Let me know if it causes your ac to run hotter.
Decided to leave the insulation under the hood off.

Have either of you run your car up over 100 MPH with the hood on?
Just wondering if any hood shake.

Steve

Finally got mine painted and installed. I decided to go with a look/style very similar to Steeda. The lines of the hood dictated some differences. May not be the look/style for everyone but I'm LOVIN IT.... Any way another variation for your eyes:

thanx 4 starting the post -- this hood is really growing on me -- I think I'm going to put my order in next week. Here's the other chop I promised -- I still think it's a lil' off -- but you can get the general idea. looks allot like the concept.
Ha! That's my pic from one of the first test drives in Canada

The pics you guys are supplying of the new hood on your rides look great. We're still on the fence with picking a hood. This hood is currently our #1 choice followed by the Steeda hood. Decisions, decisions...
