That's sweet. The only bummer is I think it killed my plans to put white stripes on my torch red GT. I think, with the Shelby Mustangs coming soon that it will make people who put stripes on their GTs look like posers.

I've got a Torch Red GT with white stripes, and I can honestly say that I had them done well before the Cobra was shown to the public.

So, is this a chicken or the egg type of situation?

Stripes or no stripes its going to be easy to pick out a Shelby Mustang amung other GT's and V6's...

If you put Cobra emblems on your GT you would be a poser... But everybody is entitled to racing stripes

Not a pretty job, but someone's gotta set 'em straight as to what a 21st vs. 19th century suspension looks like!

0-60 I saw was supposed to be 4.7 secs with a top speed of 155. Hopefully they will oficially list the HP at 120 or less so we can all afford to insure it

On the 2 years thing I mentioned earlier, I saw 2 years as we were supposed to get the 05 last spring but it never came until last fall. They are saying next spring but you know we wont see it until fall of 2006, if we are lucky. They also say it will be around $35,000 but I can see it being over 40k, if it isnt real limited production. I was talking to a salesman at the dealership I buy at last week and he told me his price right now on the GT was $225,000 from another dealer! The MSRP is 155K but the demand is hot so they can name their price. Regardless I just think having to wait at all after seeing the darn car yesterday is creul and unusual punishment.

I'm just bustin' your chops, Rhumb. Honestly, I think the more things like this are complained about, the better chance Ford might change them. IRS may be a stretch, but, maybe painted mirrors or whatever. The purpose of a Concept is to gauge public reaction.

I am sure they are reading these boards as we speak.

Has Ford released production numbers? I read on another board 7,500. Has anyone place an order for one yet?

It's gotta be more than that... Everyone who loves American muscle wants one!

For the 0-60 I would estimate low 4's... 4.7 sounds too high to me, but I could be wrong.

I hope they're reading, and paying attention. I'd hate to think all my whining and snivelling went to waste!

I think your right. The 2000R Cobra was a naturally aspirated 5.4-liter V8 producing 385 horsepower. It was good for 0-60 in 4.7 seconds, and do the quarter-mile in 13.2. The Shelby should at least bet those times.
