130

Had some room left but didn't want to push it anymore. The roads are pretty crowded out here, and my hood started shakin' something fierce. Car remained smooth. Everything around you is going by faster but the car handles and rides as well as it does at 60.

1. I'm gonna bring my GPS along so I get the speed exactly.
2. I'm wearing my helmet.

142 mph 2 weeks ago on a trip to Ann Arbor. On I-94. A neon tried to race me and my freinds (a CTS-V and a GTO). Stupidest thing I ever done. Had to cut across 2 lanes at 130. Never again. Did however get it to 144 on a open 696.

hey, do you think some hood pins would help with that vibration? Or are they more for looks?

147 MPH on german Autobahn @ 4700rpm and still pulling strong, had to stop due to crosswinds wich caused hood shutter which scared the s%## out of me, thought the hood might fly up, had that happen to me before years ago did not want to chance a repeat at that speed.

I did 110 on my way to Phoenix last weekend from LA on I-10. But honestly, I didn't even realize how fast I was going until I glanced down at the speedo. I just slowly pressed the gas, didn't even down shift, figured I was doing about 85 or so (no cars in front of me to guage speed.

I'm used do driving with no speedometer because my old Camaro didn't have one. For some reason, every time I'm driving my mustang I'm always going quite a bit faster than I think I am. Seriously, it's getting a bit anoying. lol! I got an apointment to have 4.10's installed, so maybe that will help things out a bit. haha!

140 by the speedo - GPS said 138. The guy next to me started to scream like a girl so I let off. It was HIS idea to see how fast it would go so please hold the flames. He just didn't have an idea of HOW fast it WOULD go.

Hahaha, sounds just like what happened to me. Poor brother had never gone over 100. At 130 he was climbing up the seat.

I've done 120 and hit the governor. It felt like it definatley had more to go. The x-cal 2 is on the way so ill see how fast I can get it after the govenor is gone.

140+ while chasing a grey Porsche. The Porsche driver passed a pack of cars on the right shoulder then stomped on it. I could'nt let that go unanswered, so I put the spurs to her and off we went.

We had clear road up ahead (73 freeway her in sunny SoCal.) and we raced for about 5 or 6 miles. I planted my front bumber on his tail and kept it there. This guy was swerving back and forth tring to shake me but could'nt. I could see him grinning from ear to ear in his rear view mirror!

I had the throttle buried and was shifting between 4th and 5th. The car would hit the rev limiter in 4th, then I would shift till we hit light traffic. This went on for about 5 minutes till we came up on a toll booth, where the CHP are known to prowl about.

My hood was shaking something fierce! This seems to be a common problem with our cars, but it seems to be hit or miss. I've had the car up to the triple digits before and the hood was steady as a rock. Other times, she shakes like it's gonna fly right off.

Any idea if there is a fix for this problem? I'm afraid I'm going to damage the hood some day. (Before you say it, driving slower is not always an option!)

Once I added the Shaker scoop, that hood flex thing went away. So, all you need is a bigazz hole in the hood!
