whats the highest speed you have done in ur stang?
I probably answered earlier in this thread, but have since passed that.
New high is 141 - Closed road - under construction. I was the only one there and had a couple miles of open area to play around in. Probably wasn't supposed to be there, but oh well!

I got pulled over doing 103 in Northern AZ. Cop was very nice and wrote it down to 10 over. It was the first week of the Vert and he hadn't seen one yet. Spent more time admiring the car than scolding me about speed. That wouldn't happen now.
I posted already but I'm going to clarify:
162: 2003 Cobra on I-8 (Western Arizona)
145: 1970 Boss 302 on I-10 (West Texas)
125: 2005 Mustang GT on I-10 (Eastern Arizona)
Odd how my three personal bests are all in a Mustang when I've owned Chevys most of my life.....

Last week on the way up to Minnesota, long stretch, no traffic, uphill: 115
Hood was dancing like crazy (there was a cross breeze) and I was losing my nerve. Also the wife said "are we going really fast, could you slow down"
On a side note: My wife and I have a running joke because she thinks the speedometer is, let's say vague. The joke is that if we were pulled over and a cop said "do you know how fast you were going?" we'd say "I don't know, somewhere between 60 and 80."
So most of the trip she'd ask "hey how fast are we going, 60-80 or 80-100?"

Probably about 120-130 down the freeway being chased by a car load of gangbangers with intent to do me physical harm.
I don't speed normally or drive as fast as I used to after visiting the race track.. nothing compares and it's definately given me an appreciation for a good handleing car and speed in the right place (track).

155+ twice, first time with a vette pacing me, thats how I found out how fast we were going, the vette read 155 and second a friend in his BMW again that was the reading in the BMW (also had a friend in his Mach 1 right with us), no problems at all with the car, felt real smooth and felt like it still had more to give, didnt feel like there was any restraint at all, the hood rattled a bit but not bad. This car will easily hit 120-130 before you know it and it doesnt feel like your going that fast, Ive done that a couple times without even realizing I was going that fast, and for the record one of those times there was an 05 V6 that was right behind me at 130 and it was hanging with me nicely, even though I wasnt hammering the throttle , when I did I was able to easily pull away.
I forgot I posted in this a long time ago, update with the 4.10s the car tops right around 150 now but gets there **** fast
none of these times are the fastest Ive been in a car though, just my 05 GT.
Fastest in my Mustang so far, about 1.3 mph in the engine-less '69 vert. as the lawn tractor pulled it into the shop after it was delivered.
I do plan to drive it a bit faster when the project is over - 4.6L P71 Police Interceptor drive train and computer.
But first comes the frame work.
See pics of the "Rustang" in the Midwest section of the forum.
As for the fastest I've driven.. 140+ (Buried speedo, needle bounced between 70 & 140 peg how it didn't snap the cable, I don't know)
in a 1971 Ford Galaxie 500 - 351C, Holley double pumper carb.

Fastest I have ever done was 180 KPH = 112 MPH. Was out for dinner with the wife and neighbours and on the way home the neighbour's wife kept yelling 'faster, faster!'. Maybe it was because she is a former Camaro and Vette owner who now drives a Mazda Tribute!
Topped out at about 145. I wouldn't recomend it in stock trim, when I hit the brakes and the rear suspension unloaded the whole back of the car started to sway side to side. Between the stock minivan tires and the rubber panhard rod bushings it was way too sloppy for that kind of speed. Fastest since I switched to an MM panhard and some Potenza RE050's was 125 and it felt rock solid. Even more so now that we added the 500 splitter to the nose.
