I could be wrong, but I don't think any of those ***** are going to fit. The thread pattern needs to be 1/2-20

D2Toys
Like I need prompting to spend money on my car...$4000 and counting....
Looks cool. The only thing that I would change is to make the ball wood grain instead of black or white. Where would I get that? :bang:

I think I'm going to go ahead and order this shifter, and I don't even have a build date yet. My wife is going to kill me, I've already got a parts pile going and she shakes her head every time she walks past it. Hmmm, what a great hobby.

How about some pics of yours installed? I'm wondering if it looks like the factory pics.

DiamondBlue, I have pics back on page 4. And to davids2toys, your description sounds a lot like the Tri Ax. I dont have any particularly bad noise or vibration problems. I have the Thunk-thunk thing, but I think thats more of an issue with the tranny than the shifter. And mine was stiff, especially in 1/2 or 5/R, but I loosened up the shift nut and that helped a lot. You might try that as well. Neither shifter should be an unclean female dog to shift. Finally to pumpkinhead. NO you cant bolt a Hurst stick on the stock shifter unless you do some cutting and welding on it. The handle isnt really removeable. But you CAN mount a T handle on it. You will have to make the boot fit this arraingement, tho. But all in all, since the Hurst is cheaper than the Steeda, if I had it to do all over agin, I'de probably go with the Hurst.

I really want the short throw shifter. I showed the picture to my wife, and she just about blew a gasket. "It looks like a ping pong ball!" "You don't even have the car yet, and you want to stick a ping pong ball on it!"

LMPerformance is now advertising this shifter with a pretty sweet pic of it inside an '05: http://www.lmperformance.com/5828/73.html
They're advertising a 45% shorter shift, hmmm.
It's about time....

It looks like a cue ball, not a ping pong ball, but I'm not going to taunt the savage beast by correcting her. Particularly not in the middle of purchase negotiations for mods!
She does have a point, however. I really like the old style Hurst ball, but the Hurst linkage that uses the existing shift **** should blend better. Does anyone have that version, and pictures of how that sits in the car with the factory shift **** on top? I'm guessing the shift lever is taller?
