Pictures of Hurst shifter
Well, this is just my opinion so no hard feelings. I dont care for either one at all because they do not look original. If its the comfort feeling your looking for well ths fine but when it comes to the looks it needs to go. It reminds of how some people dress a cheap car like an old cavalier or something and make it look like it just dropped out of space. The installation of it dont seems to have went well either as the leather around looks like you just stuffed it in there and it would come out of place if you moved the shift ****. Again, no hard feelings just my opinion wchich probaly aint worth 1 penny. Good luck with it.

I miss the Hurst in my '72 Duster 340 (long since gone). I think the one mod I'd do to an 05 GT is the Hurst shifter. Very cool!

IF I do any mods they will likely be limited to a few in the performance category. It appears that some owners think the stock shifter is fine from 2nd to 3rd, while others believe it is mushy, etc. Once I get the car and know that any shifting concerns ,if they arise, are not due to the driver - hurst would be my first choice. By the time this happens, there is probably going to be alot more info available on this forum. BTW - I loved the hurst on the 65 GOAT. Only bad news was that is was my friends car who I was the only one he let drive it. Funny - he never seemed to ask to drive my 53 Mercury flat-head ???
I like it! So old school! This is the same shift lever/**** that I have for the toploader trans in the Cobra kit car I am working on. I assumed that Hurst did not have this available for the 05 and I bought the Tri-ax instead. I'll have to see about getting that lever/**** or at least just the ****.

Gordon,
Do you have any pics of the shifter before it was installed? I would like to see how the hardware compares to the Tri-Axe shifter.

I could possably take some if it ever warms up here again, but that probably wont be untill April.
Really the only diff is the lengh of the stick, the one the came with the tri-axe is about 4" this one is about 8"
As for the question on the boot, posted earlier The boot has a rubber o-ring glued in it that is how it attaches to the stock shifter ****. All I did was turn in inside out and put a smaller o-ring on it (above the stock o-ring)....worked out perfect. and if I ever want to go back to stock its really easy.

So Gordon, has it warmed up yet???

I wish, it was 25 today. I'd much rather be driving the Stang around town! So she sits in the garage and waits to be set free.
I did order a set of BMR combo lower control arms on Thursday....maybe that will make me fell better.....naaaaaaa.
Wow, Santa did get my letter. The white ball shift **** was actually the first thing that came to mind for interior mods. I know you can buy just the ****, but I was hoping hurst would make a short throw shifter for the 05's. I will definatly purchase it when they are avalible.
That's the nice thing about the hurst. You can play with handle lengths and shifter ***** until you find the combo you like. I personally like the old school look. It goes with the rest of the car. That's the same reason I went with the Bullit wheels too. Heck, look at the dash itself. That is pretty old school looking too!

Feel the same way! The Bullits IMO look really good with the mineral grey. Now....if they can get them out into the market and we can hear some feedback on em.
If you guys are interested in this I have a little updated info:
Part # 3910201
Availability: Late July 2005
I got this info froma Hurst technician. Hopefully he's right about the date. I'd personally rather have it sooner.
