Well, this is just my opinion so no hard feelings. I dont care for either one at all because they do not look original. If its the comfort feeling your looking for well ths fine but when it comes to the looks it needs to go. It reminds of how some people dress a cheap car like an old cavalier or something and make it look like it just dropped out of space. The installation of it dont seems to have went well either as the leather around looks like you just stuffed it in there and it would come out of place if you moved the shift ****. Again, no hard feelings just my opinion wchich probaly aint worth 1 penny. Good luck with it.
Well it was an Alpha / Test version of the product. Hopefully there will be better fitment on the production models.

I found a pic of the thing on ebay. I guess they list for $199.88, but hawgman has seen them go for 10 bucks cheaper.

Yes it is the same. Ford buys them from Hurst. This is the same unit that was prototyped on my car. It works awsome and doesnt have the vibration issues that the steeda unit has.

This new shifter looks a lot like stock. Is this steel?

I was thinking the point of an upgraded shifter was to reduce flex and shorten the throw. The shorter throw seems apparent from it's specs, but if it's steel as the stocker is, wouldn't the shifter flex still be an issue?

The steeda shifter seems as if it would have a lot less flex from the cast aluminum.

Does someone have an opinion on this?

NO, that is the cheaper version, the one I am getting has the chrome stick with HURST lettering and the White ball with hurst lettering and the shift pattern engraved in black.

Wow....I am sooooo getting that shifter as my next mod. That pic a few posts up is FANTASTIC. I am just wondering how much of a hassle the install is and who will do it for me. Is this something you think a Ford dealership would do as long as you pay the hourly labor rate?

Did it come with a ****? If so, was it the chromed one or did you buy a white ball instead?

When you get a chance Dave, could you note what was inaccurate in the instructions?

That shifter is going to make a nice b-day present for me next month!

That shifter looks like the stock flimsy one. I have the Tri Ax, and its a work of art. I put a modified Hurst stick on it with a polished T handle and it feels great! I highly recommend the T handle.
