A sneak peak of my finished install..
Too late to shoot vids (got dark), but I'll plan on doing that tomorrow right after work. I'll have the write-up done sometime in the morning, but the vids I'll add in the evening.
I'll link the new thread once it's up.

Bummer! I want to post the first pics of the Hurst handle!! It looks awesome. When I ordered the handle I was wondering what I would do about the shift boot opening and I got the handle and George had already taken that into consideration!!
The handle is machined to fit with a rubber ring the boot pops into!
TacoBill -- What **** is that? It is a 1 3/4" or 2 1/4" diameter? I bought a Hurst 163 0008 ****. It is slightly bigger than 1 3/4". I was hoping to find a 2 1/4" **** with the shift pattern on it. Also, how long did the shifter install take you?

To those subscribed to this thread, my install thread is up. It's a massive 3 posts long, sorry but it was needed for a thorough write-up.

Tispco.. This is the Hurst ball I got. Attachment 23461
Install took me the better of 3 hours. Most of the time was taking pics and documenting the sequence.

Great write-up Bill!

Quick question though, when you are setting the throw length, are you turning it clockwise completely first & then backing it (counterclockwise) out 6 turns to the desired setting?

Yes, you're correct. Screwing the linkage block clockwise all the way in til it bottoms out, then aligning the black arrow towards the Drivers side (by turning the block counterclockwise) is considered 0 turns. Each complete revolution out after that point can go from 1 -12 turns (maximum).
