Alright alright, I'm just poking the bear....your system sounds great. Just remember when it comes to exhaust, different strokes for different folks.

Hey Tom...I am not bashing the Borla's I loved the sound when I was running them with cats except for the constant drone between 1800-2200 rpm. Remember I ran them for 1 year. And then when I went off road it just got crazy loud and obnoxious to me. So you had to add resonators to your Borla system to fix your issues with the Borla's....Right? I can respect that but why put a bandage on something that can be fixed with a cheaper alternative? The Maggies. No need for reasonators. All I would ask is listen to my vids and tell the other guys here why they should spend $550-$600 bucks on the Borla's and another $200 bucks on resonators to fix the issues the Borla's have with constant drone.

I think you're vert is less tolerable to droning than coupes are.

As far as spending the extra bucks? Well, maybe because the Borlas are 304 stainless with a lifetime warranty- and because they sound better? OK OK enough's enough..
That truly is a valid point Tom, you get what you pay for !......

I am sure the Verts transmits more noise then the coupes do. And I agree the Borlas are 304 SS thru out and my Maggies are 409 SS in the body and only 304 SS on the tips ...but I also have a lifetime warranty with the Maggies. For about 200 bucks less than the Borla's and no resonators required!! But this would seem to be an obvious question since you are picking on me. You have a coupe so why did you feel the need to add resonators to your Borla system? Post your vids and let the general public make up their minds. Isn't that the fair thing to do??

Or you can just get the pypes mid muffler for half the price and blow away the maggies and borlas...but I will admit it, those maggies do sound pretty dam good...

Yep...your right. Us old guys just like a great sound and "NO Drone" crap going on. That is what I spent all the dollars on exhaust systems for the last 2 years. If you can have the sound of the Borla's at 2/3's of the price with the same warranty and "NO DRONE" why spend more? This is the question I pose to you guys.

I have never been a fan of the maggies on the s197 because they have seemed so mellow. I guess they just need a set of longtubes to wake them up

First and I'm trying to serve you no disrespect ( well maybe a little ) but I don't think they sound like the FRPP/ Borla's and second, Rust I'll bet the only way Magnaflow will Honor the warranty on rust is if the corrosion has compromised the integrity of the muffler !

Wouldn't an off road H-pipe, be enough to wake them up

Probably but I am not a big fan of the sound of offroad pipes on the s197 (ran them for a few months). I meant wake them up in a good way...

I was debating towards going with either the MRT high-flow catted H-pipe, or MAC high-flow catted Prochamber. But from my understanding there's very little to be gained, as the factory cats are considered as very low restrictive, and efficient anyhow. Therefore I really can't say for certain, as to whether or not there's a significant sound improvement over stock, one way or the other.

IMHO $ 400.00+ isn't worth the expense, for just a minimal sound improvement anyhow, or if there's even any at all.

So rather than take the risk, I'll just stick with my Pypes Violators, and stock H-pipe.

I love my prochamber. It gives the exhaust a unique note...I have also heard that there isn't too much of a difference between stock cats and highflows but i'm gonna try them anyway... Next on my list is hot rod cams,Longtubes, and highflows. I think that will be the "perfect exhaust"....

MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!

Yes Rocky I think an offroad H-pipe would give very similar results.

Are you looking into replacing your off-road Prochamber for highflows, or are looking into adding MAC high-flow catted legs, for your Prochamber

Got my maggies last week and they were an absolute DREAM to install... So easy that I had to re-think before lowering the car back down because I couldn't beleive how fast it was to install them.

Anyhooo, the maggies sound WONDERFUL with the LT headers and O/R intermediate pipe. They are 1,000 times better than the JBA mufflers I was running. The JBAs sounded great when they were speaking for the car, but now the LTs and O/R pipe are doing most of the talking... ;D

I was wondering about you the other day if you ever got those puppies installed. You think you like them now give them about 500 miles of break in time. They will gain some more volume and sound even more aggressive but you still will not have any drone. Can you post a vid of yours? I know I have beat this horse to death in this post but this setup has no down sides to it at all. They look good, turn heads, aggressive sound, no drone, no trumpets, no raspy crap, it's all good! Congrats!!

I'll see if I can get some decent video out of my digital camera, but the mic tends to pick up only higher frequencies. I don't want to short-change the deep tones of the maggies and give people the wrong impression because I went cheapo on the camera equipment... LOL

My neighbor is slicing 1.75" off the JBAs so my wife can use them without the pipes sticking out. They sounded good when the car was stock.
