Scott,
You know whatever makes you happy is what you should go with
I'm glad your happy with your Maggies, I know the GTA's didn't set well with you. I think the differences between your vert + auto & my coupe + standard also makes a difference in the in-cabin sound tone.
We're both old enough to do what pleases us first & the heck with the rest of 'em, we've earned that
I will get a current vid up within the next week here though & will include some in car vids, now that it has finally gotten warmer here.

Just yanking your chains guys. Do a little sabre rattling . I am in love with my new exhaust sound but I have said that before. We see if I am still this happy in six months.

Here is the vid I was trying to post last night and it wouldn't take. I really think my exhaust now sounds alot like Tom281's now. But he is running an off road H-pipe with Borla's stingers and added Dynomax (I think) resonators. I really post these vids to try and help others NOT spend as much money as I have on 4 different exhaust in the last 3 years. Here is a new vid of OBX longtube headers and H-pipe with Magnaflow mufflers (at idle) but this time out of the garage in the open. And I also think the Magnaflow mufflers look very similar to the Borla tips except when you look inside them you see some screen that the Borla's do not have. I know the Magnaflows seem to be to mild for most but when you couple them with longtubes, and no cats it really wakes them up it seems.

I will try to get this done for you in the next few days. I would have done it last weekend with the other vids but I didn't have anyone to man the camera for me. But I will try to do this.

The Magnaflows with the stock cats and H-pipe are very tame but coupled with longtubes and no cats seem to be the right setup at least so far. I can't believe how much the Maggies lowered the tone of the exhaust. I am tickled so far.

Thanks for the reply. I've been out of town for a few days. I am really liking what I hear. I love the sound of the FRPPs, but don't like the trumpeting. The Magnaflows sound like a good way to go. I definately want to keep the low tone.

This young kid I met at a stoplight in a 97 GT ask me when I was "gonna put an exhaust on that thing?" I told him when I can find the right sound that I like. He said to go with the Magnaflows and he took off.. 70Mach 1, take a bow sir, for you have delivered.. Thank you! Problem is that being here in the northeast, I don't think I can remove the cats. Mine is a daily driver until I return to beater status before winter hits. Maybe someone can tell me something good. I'll see what happens with longtubes and an H. ODX.. Magnaflows Oh yeah!

Thanks for the compliments guys. I am posting one last vid to try and help you guys understand why I am so pleased with my latest exhaust sound. I don't have a camera man available again so the camera is just setting on a fence post in front of my house. But I have 2 minutes of taping time so I managed to get a drive-a-way at moderate acceleration, a drive by at moderate acceleration and a full throttle drive-a-way in but just barely. Sorry for the wind noise because I think it interferes with the sound of my car and I might try this again on a calm day. But I think you can get a good feel for the sound. For those that don't know my story this vid is of my present exhaust ( # four). OBX longtubes and H-pipe with Magnaflow mufflers. It has a very low tone at idle and while driving...NO trumpeting... NO drone...and cruises on the highway much like stock. You be the judge but no more exhaust changes for me. I have found "my perfect exhaust".

Go back to my first post then...I posted vid clips of the same set up with GTA's. I personal didn't like them for the reasons mentioned in that first post. Compare the difference yourself. That's why I made this post in the first place. And the ARH's will not sound any different. I am sure of that. But I am not running cats.

Please do. I am highly considering this. I have already found someone to trade my slps for magnaflows for. Thanks!
