Scott, although I really like my Pypes Violators.

One thing is for certain, should I decide to upgrade to an O/R H-pipe. I'm definitely going to consider upgrading to Maggies as well.

IMHO, the Maggies seem to sound a bit throatier, and deeper than Pypes Violators.

I've been pondering the purchase of Borlas, some LT headers and a catted H or X pipe. I still have my old set of Magnaflows in storage but after hearing Scotts set up with the Mags I'm thinking that I might put these back into service. I'm sooooo confused

Mark, if I were currently in the market for an off road H-pipe. I'd also be willing to purchase your Maggies as well.

Rocky,
And to think I almost threw these out after I got the JBA's.

Does anyone know what the Mags will sound like with a high flow catted H or X with LT's?? I would think that with the increased exhaust flow of longtube headers and high flow cats (compared to stock) that they should sound somewhat similar to Scott's setup...yes?

I know this post will seem like I am pooping on the Borla's but since I have owned them both with cats and with an offroad Mac Prochamber I guess I am qualified to make this post. Since I have made vids of all of my exhaust setups I think I can show you guys why I am so impressed with these Magnaflow mufflers. Attached is a vid when I was running an offroad MacProchamber and Borla mufflers.

So turn up your volume and listen hard.

Now this is the vid I have taken in the last week with 500 miles on the Magnaflows and running OBX longtubes with them.

I think it is very hard to tell the difference between them. Except the most important reason. I HAVE NO DRONE WITH THE MAGGIE'S AT ANY SPEED. And for you doubter's the Borla's were very well broke in and personally doubt think you will hear much difference between an offroad H- pipe and longtubes. You guys be the judge.

Hey Scott,
You've sold me on the Magnaflow set up....it sounds awsome All things considered, you just saved me $500. now that I won't have to puchase the Borlas. Thank you

Hey Mark...that is great to hear. I know this last post with get me some bashing from the Borla and FRPP guys but if you can get the same sound...at 2/3 or less of the price and with absolutely no drone at any speed.. than again I have to say" I think I have found my perfect exhaust" The vids don't lie.

Mark,

All I can say, is if you would've thrown those Maggies out. Not only would you had thrown away possibly one of the most popular axle backs down the drain, but also one of the most expensive as well. At $399.00 those Maggies are from being cheap.

Best price I found was Brenspeed @ $399 shipped. I know Tillman (CR) matched that price but you might PM him to see if he can do better.

I know, but lets just say I was very frustrated. First I had ordered Flowmasters AT which arrived all beat to hell. Returned those. Then got the Mags instead. Put them on and my brother in law asked me when I was putting on my new mufflers....uh, they are already on. Then on to the JBA's.......

I found the JBAs perfect when I was running stock headers and intermediate pipe. Once we had the JBA LTs and O/R H-pipe installed, they were simply too raspy and high pitched for my taste.

This statement is so true. What sounds goods with one setup will sound like poop when you change something else in the system. It all has to work together. Lord knows it took me enough trys at it.

From my understanding, if you run Maggies with stock H-pipe and cats. They sound too quiet, almost like your still running the stock mufflers.

However just as Scott mentioned, once you pair them up with an off road H-pipe. They sound great, and with no drone.

Alright alright, I'm just poking the bear....your system sounds great. Just remember when it comes to exhaust, different strokes for different folks.
Yah man !... those Fagnaflows are a great muffler for women !
