I think I have found the perfect exhaust...I think
Well...I have changed my mufflers again in that never ending search for the perfect exhaust sound from these cars. Let me give you my exhaust history:Stock exhaust for 8 months

Added Borla Stingers to stock cats for 1 year

Went to Mac Prochamber with stock cats for 1 year with Borla's
Went to offroad Mac Prochamber with Borla's for 2 days

Added OBX longtubes, removed Prochamber and running GTA's.
Well I loved the GTA's when the cats were on the car. When I went with the offroad Mac Prochamber it started getting raspy and raw. Then when I added the OBX longtubes and H pipe it just got nasty sounding. From start up and that cackle at 2500-3500rpm really embarrassed me. I have hated the sound for 3 months. Well I need to thank Ryan (CaliHPAddict) for pointing me in the right direction. He has the same muffler change that I have done. He hated his GTA and longtube set up.
Here is the fix. Most of you will think that the Magnaflows (not Magnapaks) will be too quiet for your tastes and I would agree if you are running the stock H pipe with cats. But go longtubes and h-pipe and you get something totally different. I am attaching several vids of the before and after tranformation in just changing mufflers.
The only change is mufflers. I am running OBX longtubes,Obx H-pipe. Here are the before and after vids of GTA's and Magnaflows. Let me say that going to the Maggie's has lowered the tone of the car greatly...there is no interior drone at all...and all that raspy and raw sound has went away. What do you think? And there is plenty of volume left when you get on it.

First vid is cold start with the GTA's

Second vid is cold start with the Maggie's

Third vid is with GTA's going down the road.

Forth vid is with the Maggis' going down the road

And the fifth vid is me getting a little frisky with the Maggie's

Don't ask me what the buzzing or vibration sound is with the Maggie's I never heard it before and cannot hear it inside the car. But the tone of the car has changed so much (Much lower) I may have other things vibrating now.
This is my 4th set of mufflers, third midpipe, and now longtubes...this is the best sounding to date for me. Only time will tell.

Well golly Scott, that is one amazing sounding exhaust
I was a little disappointed because is was looking for the pypes mid muff but that definently sounds really aggressive and clean, glad your are happy. That camera location really picks up the sound well. How did you mount the camera?

Hey Adam... it is amazing what you can do with 3M automotive tape and duct tape. The wife was pretty well pissed to see her $500 camera stuck on my rear bumper. I am really, really happy with the sound so far which is only about 5 miles. I hope it will get a tad louder when the Maggie's burn in.

Yeah I know. I guess that is what limited slip differentials do. One wheel starts to spin and it transfers power to the opposite side. It was really starting to get out of shape on me. I am sure it is because the road and tires were cold. It was a handfull for a second or two.

Sounds great Scott.
I think both tires were spinning it's just that one of them was on the yellow stripe and hard to tell. I love looking at that rural Indiana country-side. Reminds me of my mispend youth.

Scott,
Your current setup sounds good. Do you have a catted H or O/R H?
I have ARH L/Ts w/ an O/R H and FRPP Stingers, and it is nasty sounding at times(especially around 2500rpms). I am supercharged now, and it is even worse than before. I'm looking to keep the deep tone, but want to lose the trumpet section.

70Mach1owner I've got the same long tubes as you and I am using the OR H pipe on mine with JBA's. I also installed a set of Pypes bullet cats in the H. I didn't like the sound with the OR H but did like the resonated H with my JBA's. I think the JBA sound is between both of yours. I like the Magnaflow sound. Might have to switch to them and put these JBA's on the wifes 08 GT.

I ordered them from that notorious website known as RPM Outlet. Price was same for the 05 Mustang GT as the regular bullet cats. The GT cats have an O2 bung welded in to add the rear O2 if you wanted. I have mine plugged but have the capability to add the rears in the future.

I am running OBX lontube headers and non-catted H-pipe with the Maggies. What I think I have learned is when you have removed all of the stock cats you need to put a muffler on that will create some backpressure and calm things down. The Magnaflows with the stock cats and H-pipe are very tame but coupled with longtubes and no cats seem to be the right setup at least so far. I can't believe how much the Maggies lowered the tone of the exhaust. I am tickled so far.

Great vids Scott
Your camera placement captures the sound as close as I've heard yet. That third vid sounds just like mine
The Magnaflows do well, they muffle the volume down quite a bit.
Good job!

I wish you would have posted this before I bought the GTA's, then got long tubes and off road x, hated the sound, added resonators, still hated the sound, put the stock mufflers back, quieted back down but sounded weird, then put on the flows and am now ok with the sound.
Also, great vids.
