What is your dyno date again?
Friday June 20th. My current performance mods are Pypes mid pipe muffler, Steeda shifter, C&L cai with 3 of Doug`s tunes.
Body has....Custom stripe package, Street Scene black grill insert/ no pony in grill, CDC rear spoiler, Cerveni`s Front spiltter for regular Mustang, CDC high mount 3rd light, and waiting on UPS for the MRT rear aluminun louvers to be installed.
Suspension is still in boxes waiting on install, will set up for road track events.
I am going retro on this one, I was too young to own one then, now I am too old to let it go by, Haa..Haaa
After the install and tune of these Ford cams I have a hunch Ford will be selling a lot more of them. And of course a tune from your friendly neighborhood tuner, OK Doug, here is your 15 minutes of fame....Chime in here.

Good deal. Your mods are similar to mine, so this looks like its going to work well for me!

I have a custom dyno tune scheduled for the 23rd, but if I can save the $500+ (and say, buy a 1-piece aluminum driveshaft instead with that money), I'll be happy to do so!

Keep me/us posted!

Get the tune and get an idea of what you can squeeze out of your mods. Add the DS later - no tune needed for that.

You need to wait on this one. These tunes will be exclusive for the "Hot Rod Cams" with and without a cold air kit. Stock air box and a C&L racer kit.

Hey Guys,
Don't get to excited about the tune for the cams getting you that much. But back in Feb. when I had the Comp NRS cams installed at Brenspeed and had Brent do a custom dyno tune at the same time he could only find like 6 more horsepower over his mail order tune running the stock cams that he did on the first 2 or 3 pulls. They claim no tune is required with either set of cams. And that 6 hp I got probably was a result of the 26 degree air temps that day not the tune to be honest. Not trying to poop on anybodys parade just being a realist.

What? Your saying you only gained 6HP from the Cams?

What stage cams? I know folks w/ stage 2's that picked up 20+ RWHP on the dyno.

No, he gained much more horsepower from the cams. He is saying the difference in horsepower between the canned tune that he recieved and then the custom dyno tune, which only added 6 more horse than the canned tune...I think...

Oh, I see. Makes sense now!

Even more reason for me to just get an aluminum driveshaft with the money I save!

The "Hot Rod Cams" require a specific tune, just like my earlier 2 valve engine with the bigger duration cams did. The cams have less vacume signal than stock so a rework of the maf #`s is in order to get any idle out of this setup. Were not getting excited just about a "tune". Its the combined tune with the cams, (remember as of right now no body supports a tune for these cams) = the final / fun/ results I`m waiting on. And I`m sure if these cams & tune do well you`ll still have something negative to say about it. Comp cams are not the only game in town here. I am trying to be positive about what this set up has to offer and all you have to say is negative, won`t do this, can`t do that. My first choice was going with comp, just could not find a cam with enough duration for my engine set up I was going to build. I have followed you build up of your set up, I think its a great set up, I` looking for a little more out of my setup in the mid to upper range, right where I`ll need it comming out of my apex in the sweet spot. Not wanting to step on anybodys toes, What is great for one might not be enough for another, just trying to be positive here. JK

No no not at all. I pickup up right at 25 rwhp from the cams. But the 1st 2 pulls were done with with Brenspeeds 93 octane C&L intake tune stardard mail order tune. Than he added fuel, pulled fuel, added timing trying to get what he could find and only found an additional 6 hp. This is why at least on the Comp cams there is no special tune required to get that 25 hp gain.

I am not trying to come across as putting down the Hot cams. Not at all my intent. But I read what is unfounded information being quoted here and am trying to give information that I know is true and accurate. I made my choice on cams and have never had any of the issues I have read about with the Hot cams. I also find it interesting that no one really supports a tune for these cams. Have seen no dyno numbers to prove they make good power yet either. Other than advertisement. So it seems to me they are not a complete package yet. The Hot cams truely have a sweet sound that my Comps don't. But I believe that when you run that valve overlap to great that sound it will hurt power. There is another brand of cam out there that has an absolute awesome sound but run like poo. Just ask Faber. I will refrain myself in the future.

****, according to Ford Racing these are not emissions legal in CA. Probably won't pass smog with them.

Definitely have to say I agree with Scott- Realistically...But somewhere in my fantasy world Im still hoping I can throw on a set of cams (With NO Valve springs on top of that!) and have the car respond like the LS Juan. -Where huge lope/duration go hand and hand with ever increasing power that is found all through the RPM range, not just at the top...Maybe someday LOL
