Fryguy! Do it! Trust me, its worth it

I like your sig - "more stuff then my wife needs to know about". Mine doesn't even know about the cams, lol. I guess the car is loud either way, so she doesn't really question it.

You know I got a tune from doug...just the standard 93 race tune. When I got my first one my idle did the same thing. I emailed doug and he said he forgot to change a certain parameter...he fixed and sent me a new tune...I would contact him.
Thanks

You should see if you can get the post icon changed from a thumbs down to a big smile or thumbs up

Forgot to add... A member of my home-board (AtHomeTech @ moddedmustangs) also has these installed, and he just took his to the track. He gained 0.67 in the 1/4 mile. I think thats pretty **** good!

So yeah, all the naysayers are going to be quickly quieting themselves about these cams very soon

How difficult would it be to install the cams yourself. I heard that you had to buy special tools which could cost up to $300 but is it the same for NSR cams? I really want these cams but I absolutely hate to have places install things for me because I feel it is a waste as I am more than likely able to do it myself.

Hmm...it looks a bit more difficult than I had anticipated. I guess I will have a shop install it.

Are you satisfied with the idle now? Any more surging? Looking forward to your dyno to see how much they change the tune.

The idle is pretty good now. Doug has a car coming in in about a week or so that he's going to get on the dyno and really tweak everything out. When he's got that done, I'm going to get an updated tune, and everything should be gravy.

Awww, who let the cat atta the bag?
That would be me and my car with the "Hot Rod Cams" installed, headed to a tune session with Doug. I am just as curious to see what and where the #`s actuall fall in line from idle to usable redline. Car is being towed down.
Here is a pic of the car in question with its tow buddy. He..He.. Ok, we will post pics of the other twin plus one. Original twins are my Yellow 98 Mustang GT and the Yellow Boss 5.4 F-150 in the pics. The "Plus one" is the Yellow 06 Mustang GT.

Hey tribaltek, Our cars are just about have the same gear and we will both benefit from this, as Doug will have a Mustang and the cams in the same place to tune with. Its a sweet win win for all. JK

Is it me or does it seem Ford was half-arsed in only offering the cams and no tune to go with them? Perhaps there is more to it than that (like maybe they avoid EPA scrutiny by offering cams only) but if it were me, I'd certainly offer the option at least.

Ok - so in a few weeks I will be in the market for these Hot Rod's...all I need to is where to get them from, and if there are any negative effects from installing these? Also, is there anything else that needs to be done?

How much do cams usually cost to have them installed? Oh and I am assuming these void the factory warranty? The local Ford Dealership won't install these, will they?
