The problem is... thats the Whipple kit,
The thread is about, and what I'm talking about is the FRPP FR4 Super Pack.
The one they are releasing (like roush) that if installed by a Ford dealership, will be encompassed by the warranty.
Just because its the same part numbered charger, does not mean that is the power the Ford FR4 pack will put out.
I'm guessing it will be in the 425-450hp arena
for warranty and reliability purposes.
However the whipple numbers on their site would indicate what is possible with a different pulley. (I see the FR4 using no more than 6 pounds)

Superchargers are a reliable product, the trouble is installing it on an unreliable motor that wasnt designed to handle much boost.

Why would it be different for the 05-06 Mustangs?

Check Whipple's website for detaills about the S/C. I believe their kit is putting down 490/450 on 91 octane at 10 psi. If this kit is available with a warrantee I'll buy it in a heartbeat!

I'd venture a guess that Ford wouldn't go over 6 psi.....
That's exactly what the guy said at the Hot Rod power tour in Orlando yesterday. The Splitfire Mustang equipped with the Ford Racing supercharger had 6# of boost.

Boomer, I'd love to be able to keep my warranty with a FRPP supercharger....but I don't think it's going to happen. Ford never has (and I don't think they ever will) warrant an aftermarket supercharger. If they do that would be great, and I'll buy one in a heartbeat.(Unless it is the non-I/C version).

Because this is part of the upgrade 'packs' (and it was stated this way at SEMA)
They specifically stated that the FR4 Super Pack would not void your warranty....
.... now... regular FRPP parts (ie: blowers) will void your warranty as they are a Ford Racing part... and probably haven't gone through testing and blessing of the Ford Motor Company.
'packages' or 'stages' go through the testing to make sure durability etc.
What WILL be interesting is if the GT500 Super Pack (3.3L blower replacement) will void the warranty on the GT500.

Now if they go back on what they were going to do (offer it with warranty)
that pretty much leaves the option to have a Roushcharger installed and keep the warranty (sorry..have roush take over those parts)
either way, my dealership would cover the whole car.
Now I only say this about the FR4 Super Pack because it was stated multiple times by multiple sources...all within ford.
If that changes...... that makes the decision pretty easy then doesn't it.

Different strokes for different folks ![Smile](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
At least theres not just one out there...
Some of us have more than 2 years left on the warranty... and its really important.
Some others have WAY more money to play with ...
However and whatever you achieve
all the power to you...
Its fun getting there

You can't get them.
Ford keeps the coding to the spanish/silver oak processors very well kept.
Only certain things are released to tuners (SCT/Diablo) from what I have heard.
Only 1 or 2 aftermarket tuners has full reign of the mappings...
Like probably Saleen/Roush/Ford Racing

I wouldn't shy away from the Roush (and didn't) just because it's a smaller blower or a roots-type. If OEM-type quality is high on your list, you can't get any better than the Roush. If you're planning on building a shortblock and going all out, then of course there are better choices out there. Plus you don't have to change engine mounts or remove the hood liner to make it fit.
I plan to explore the upper hp limits of the Roush system and have started by porting my lower intake, and I'll be using the GT500 front mount heat exchanger and coolant degas tank (for cosmetic reasons mainly) in place of the Roush supplied parts to help combat heat soak. I would like to make 400 rwhp with the 7 psi pulley from Roush, and then add some ported heads later if I decide to gamble with my shortblock.

That is one of the reasons that Dustin Whipple is touting his products reliability.
