I have two businesses myself, and while they havent been as productive as i had hoped, i just dont have enough time to do 3 full time jobs lol. I own a graphics & photography business and i also own a drag racing organization, as well as freelance work for a few magazines..... so, i decided to dedicate more of my time to getting the series off the ground and i believe i will be in more of a permanant position with Competition Plus doing the photography & writing.
I am going to miss working at MD and everyone here...but they arent so far that i cant stop in now & again & say hi. Plus ill see the gang at the races
And just an FYI because of the way you asked..... Ken & i are not married i just work here lol

Ken,
Could you incorporate your custom tune into a tuner/CAI package? Your dyno graph results show close to 40 hp and 40 tq. If that tune is safe to run with stock GT stangs then could it be incorporated? It would be a killer marketing move; you could call it the 93 Octane Monster Tune for 40 hp / 40 tq. Then include your other 2 tunes, the 93 and 87 for a total of 3.
Possibility?

Well, the tunes I give are based on that custom tune. But when doing mail order, I have to be a bit conservative because every car is a little different. I'm not really into 'over marketing' things like that. I can come out with a bunch of different stages of tunes or come up with fancy names but in the end it's a bunch of marketing BS. What you will get from me is the best tune I can give for any given octane AND great support. I can't promise that every tune I provide will be perfect but I will say that I will keep sending revisions until my customers are happy.
Hope that makes sense.
Ken

I went from a C&L Street intake to this one... Just a few things I noticed tonight in playing with it. Keep in mind that all of this is preliminary, just observations from the 50 miles or so I out on the car tonight.
A baseline I did with the C&L was to adjust only the MAF transfer function witohut changing anything else in the tune. What this does is to allow the car to run the intake without throwing any codes. That way, I could tell what was from the intake and what was from the tune. I have a G-tech unit and a nice quite empty stretch of road that I use for testing. Before the C&L, with just a set of UDP's and some LCA's., tires at normal street pressure and 93 octane in the tank, I pulled a 13.38 @104.2 mph. I put the C&L on, Adjusted the MAF transfer and an hour after the first run, pulled a 13.2. Just a hair shy of 2/10ths of a second faster with just the intake.
Tonight, I put the Profab intake on, set my tune back to stock except to adjust the MAF transfer function, and everything else is the same. Temp is only about 15 degrees cooler than it was when I did the C&L test, so while a tiny amount of the change can be attributed to that, it's really not a huge factor. Just got back from the run with the intake. 13.16 @105.5 mph. Again, thats on the stock tune with nothing adjusted except for the MAF transfer. So you could argue that .04 seconds could be attributed to the temperature difference, if nothing else, it shows that this is on par with the C&L, which is considered to be one of the top two out there. As a side note, I adjusted my C&L tune for the ProFab intake, and the G-tech clicked off a nice little 12.88 @ 108. 8
A couple of things I noted while data logging. I drove about 50 miles tonight with the intake. Intake air temps at highway speed are +/- 2 degrees of ambient air. Even after sitting at an idle for 10 minutes, trying to get the thing to heatsoak, The most I saw was about 12 degree's over ambient and when I took off, before I hit 3K rpms it was back down. With the C&L, I regularly saw intake temps in the 20 degrees or more above ambient temps.
Construction-wise, the Build quality of Ken's intake, IMO, is far superior to the C&L. I'm not a fan of the "cast metal" texture on the C&L, and the heat sheild on the C&L is plastic, and is only attached by one bolt and a zip tie (I kid you not.. your supposed to zip tie one end of it to the ABS lines right by the filter.) Ken's sheild is very precisely cut, and attaches firmly. The color match on the paint is perfect, and the finish is as good on the rest of my stang.
The install was super easy. Took me about 30 minutes, and 15 of that was figuring out the first tip below. Two tips I would give about the install:
1. When attaching the heat sheild to the fanshroud, sandwich it between the shroud and the rad, otherwise the bolt is too short. You'll understand what I am saying once you see how the shroud goes in there.
2. Take your time with the install. A few extra minutes during the install will allow you to place all the clamp screws in places that can easily be accessed with a socket or screwdriver, yet out of sight to make this **** nice looking intake even better looking.
Overall, I am very happy with the choice I made to switch to Ken's ProFab intake. It's defaintely a nice piece and well put together. It looks great on the car, and performs as Ken said it would.
One last comment I would like to make. I do my own tunes with an HP Tuners setup, and sertain pieces of these tunes comes from the parts manufacturers. C&L's customer service did not even want to talk to me unless I bought something direct from them first ( I Bought my C&L used). Just getting the MAF transfer function from them so I could start tuning the C&L too weeks and was about as pleasurable as getting a root canal without novacane. Ken has not only given me the transfer function DAYS before I got my intake, he's giving me advice on how to adjust my tune to get the most out of it. Customer Service means alot more to me than price, and because of it, Modular depot will be getting first shot at ANY money I spend on my car.

Congrats to you Bob and to Mrs GTBob for giving the green light for this
I appreciate your detailed write-up on the ProFab intake it makes me feel even better about my decision to go with it.
I am having so much fun with the car now the wife is wondering if there's something she should know
