When you have kids Leo you will understand where I'm comming from
Don't you put that curse on me.

You've seen the toy collection in my garage...Champagne taste and Beer budget. I'll probably get the shifter, but not for a bit.

Oh no doubt you've got a nice toy collection. Maybe you just need to reroute funds from the bikes to the Stang.

BTW, did anyone else have MAJOR issues with not being able to get on the forum today, both this morning and this afternoon?

Nope I haven't had any problems. I have had it happen though were I can't get it on and when I finally do I see people were making posts while I wasn't even able to access the site.

It's slow from time to time. I'm mostly on in the late afternoon to the evening.

I don't have the luxury of getting on this at work.

That whole "Protecting everyone's Freedoms" take's up most of my day.

No need to physically try out the shifter, just wait for my honest review (and see my videos). That should convince you one way or the other.

I have both!

If I only had the Mustang, a shiny new SC would already be installed. But, I wouldn't trade in my kid for nuthin'! He's the best!!

You had the Saleen adapter right (I am assuming this, based off your how-to). Would you please post an honest review comparing the Saleen adapter to the MGW shifter? I am very interested in knowing if it's worth the $300, or if I should just keep with what I have.

Yes, I have the Saleen adapter.

And yes of course, I will tell you the real poop on the scoop comparing the two.

It's Spring Break this week and I'm on vacation since my daughter has no school. My wife was supposed to be off, too, but it didn't work out. We were out all day down in Chuck's territory (Tampa).

Steve's birthday is official - on the East coast!

Tom, no reply about my lengthly post to you? It took some time searching for all this info.

Has Tom finally conceded to the MGW shifter?

I saw it, just no time.

- ability to adjust throw of shifter
It's already short enough (again, compared to earlier years it's like we already have a short throw shifter when compared to their long throws).

- ability to adjust height of shift ****.
If I make it higher, it only increases the throw. Why would I want to do that?

- ability to adjust rotational position of ****.
Now, this is worth $300, for sure!

- complete dynamat pad and extreme heat shields
Don't hear any noise or feel any heat coming through as it is now.

- custom upper and lower boots stainelss clamps.
This is a plus if you felt the need for a new shifter since most aftermarket ones make you re-use the stock boot.

- COMPLETEY machined all billet construction. EVERY piece hard coated that is alumiunum.
Good selling point compared to other shifters, but again, only if you felt the need to shop for one. I wouldn't buy an aftermarket shifter if I didn't feel I needed one just because of it's construction.

- versatility of handle swap out to use a wide variety of ***** and thread sizes.
Nothing wrong with the stock ****.

- 100 percent complete replacment shifter. no reusing stock pieces to mount the shifter.
Good selling point compared to other shifters, but again, only if you felt the need to shop for one. This would be like not wanting lowering springs for the car, but then buying them just because the aftermarket springs are 100% complete replacement springs.

- combination of both free motion linkage to eliminate binding when moving left to right AND heavy return springs to pop into the center gate for both 2-3 upshifts and fast 5-4 downshifts.
Don't feel binding with the stock shifter and can already shift 2-3 fast and downshift 5-4 fast.

- unique centerline support rod design virutally eliminates 3rd wot lock out dilema.
Never heard of WOT 3rd lock-out, nor have I ever experienced it.

- front support arm WILL have 2 stainless steel flanges on BOTH ends of the rubber mount.
Man, you never mentioned THIS! I'm ordering one right now! Wow, on BOTH ends? Really?

- rear support bracket has rubber isolator pad to eliminate squeaking.
No squeaking with stock shifter. But, I guess another good selling point if comparing other aftermarket shifters.

--------------------------

Nothing in that list worth $300 to me... and nothing good enough to put up with more notchy-ness.

If I was going to drag race the car, I'd have ordered one already. But, then again, I would probably already have an aftermarket shifter.

For daily driving (and more-than-occasional horseplay), comparing apples to apples, stock to stock, Mustangs to Mustangs, our shifter can't be beat.
