OK, opinion and thoughts time (Back to Mustang Talk )
I sent the money for the CAI and hopefully will get it this week. It really doesn't matter, it would just give me a weekend project (cleaning it).
For some reason I was sitting here at work thinking about the CAI tube. There is really nothing under the hood that is the same color as the intake tube.
What do you guys think about painting it, or possibly having something airbrushed on the tube.
Any ideas thoughts ??

Why do I have to be the undecided one?

Tom-Can you post some close ups of your speaker covers?

Bill-I'll be in the area tomorrow so I can drop the can off at Kevin's place or whereevery you'd like.

My club is having a meeting Wednesday and I won't be able to take the stang. I'm going to miss her. The only good thing coming out of this is that I won't feel the urge to buy any new mods untill I get her back and enjoy the chin spoiler for about a week. It's like loosing a child.

Daryl you the sills on your shaker will kind of match it. If not just get some billet dress up for your engine.

How about having it powdercoated black?

I had thought about that too and that is when I came up with the airbrush idea, but I have no clue if or what might look good. Black tube with a design or logo on the tube in brushed aluminum color??
May not do anything, just throwing out ideas.

Got any pictures of an engine bay with the C & L in a VB stang. I might be able to play with some chopping

What C&l are you going with the aluminum or the composite one? With the aluminum one, powdercoating it would look good, just depends on the color. black would probably be the best. Going the VB route might just be a little overkill IMO.

Received and installed my MGW radiator and oil cap along with my dipstick hande.

FYI you have to cut off the loop on the dipstick in order to get the handle on.

Here's some pics of the dipstick handle.

Pic showing size difference between oil cap and dipstick handle.

Pics of oil and radiator cap.

The aluminum one. Yea VB might be overkill. I think I want to try and keep the brushed aluminum and black under the hood. I might just try to get some black rubber connectors and do away with the blue that comes with the kit.

The dipstick handle is too hard to see in the pictures. Is it as unnoticeable in person or does it really stand out ??
The rest of the pieces look great

You brought it on yourself!
How close do you want? Can't go out right now... it's 50 degrees!

Looks nice, Leo!

Careful when wiping down those chrome caps (all 3), chrome scratches easily.

Next time, click on the macro button on your digital camera for extreme close-ups and don't zoom in, just bring the camera closer to the subject.

That is a good idea. Some black silicone hoses/sleeves would look nice.

Leo and I got our silicone hoses from here.

Well , I survived.

Didn`t notice anything during the procedure , they kept askin me if I was still with them....I guess cuz it seemed like 1 min when it was 17. No after effects...no pain , darn , I expected more.

Had very few electrical shocks down my arm after , guess it`s working allready.

Hate not being able to drive for 24 hours....I may go into withdrawl!!

Oh yeah, Chris got your message. Guess he couldn't answer it, was talking to one of his girlfriends.

My question, I was asking which oil filter would be 'better', the K&N (PN# HP-2010) or the Mobil 1 (PN# M1-210)? ... only a $1 difference, $10.99 vs $11.99 (K&N). I know they're both excellent companies and offer great products, just looking for opinions.

FYI- I didn't buy either yet as my local Autozone only had 3 quarts of Mobil 1 5W-20 left!

I still have my freebie Ford Racing filter. Since I'm only going to change the oil once a year, I'm looking for the best filter.

I have always used the Motorcraft oil filters on every Ford I've owned and never had a problem.

It's an FL-1A on the '89 (huge filter), but don't know what it is on the '06. Probably FL-820 or something like that (like your performance filter).

I would never get Fram and have never tried a Mobil 1 or K&N filter.

Maybe you should use your performance filter, and then use another performance filter every year due to your oil-change interval. More expensive, but not really since you are changing 1/3 the time I am.

Get the Mobil 1 at Wal-Mart... it's cheaper!
