I think I'll pass on the $70 plus shipping for an auto button, for now. Just not high on my agenda. I need to get my tint re-done anyway.

You can just get the module to make it be an auto button for $39.95 if you wanted. It doesn't really have to say AUTO. Ya know, I've heard of a couple people that got the button that says AUTO from the factory by mistake (just the button, not the module). That would have been cool.
I'll take it apart and see if I can build one for a couple bucks with parts from Radio Shack. If I can, I'll mail you one for free!

Thought I would jump in here on the Doug/tune discussion…..

I ran his tunes in my 05.

I ALSO had the pleasure of running against Doug in bracket in Orlando at FFW last year J

The comparing of a tuned GT to a track prepped Shelby has already been done….

What I will say is that Doug’s customer service is top notch – I also drove alongside and behind that white and red 05 of his on the highway going to Barber’s during the MCA meet in Birmingham….. you would have though that auto was a manual. That thing is a monster. The guy is definitely good with the S197 tuning…..

Welcome to our "little" thread, Dave!

Everybody meet Dave, aka "Big Falken Tires"... he's from my neck of the woods (well, closer than CA, OK, or TX).

Jump in anytime on all the crazy stuff we talk about in here... If you can keep up!

Running against Doug must have been AWESOME!

Just running down a 1/4mi track would be awesome!

All we have here (which I have yet to visit) is an 1/8mi track.

oops, where's my manners... Welcome Dave!

I took my Mach 1 emblem out of the shaker grill yesterday and used Gasket Remover to take it down to bare metal. Then I did the following:

1. Primed it
2. Painted one coat of semi-gloss black
3. Painted one coat of aluminum
4. Lightly drug coarse sandpaper across it in one direction to allow some of the black through.
5. Painted two coats of clear.

It looks just like brushed aluminum now.

It's baking now (in the FL sun, not the oven) and I can't take pictures because my wife took the camera to work today. They are getting a GT-H in today for a customer. $300/day, minimum of 2 days.

Thanks Dave!

I remember the Dark Knight II when I first joined the forum. And yes, you did that car up right!

Check out MGW's new product. I think I might have to get these in silver with ponies of course and with the deluxe option. Not anytime soon though as no one will even notice these at a car show.

They're available now. I agree it's a bit pricey for two small pieces that a majority of people will never see unless you show them.

Wow... I'm gone all night and only a few posts to read!

We went to Fantasy of Flight - it's where I'll have a Mustang show in April 2007, but tonight it was for a get together for a bunch of airplane people. And since my wife works at an FBO (Fixed Base Operation) that fuels airplanes, they were invited. It was pretty cool... food was good... and they had an open bar. Plus her FBO rented a party bus for the trip there and back.

Out of all the people there, I won first place in the Combat Flight Simulator and I got a plane mounted on a stand. Figures, someone not even related to airplanes or airports wins 1st place. Everybody was ohhing and ahhing over the plane... guess it's a nice plane? I'll post pics tomorrow along with my Mach 1 emblem (which turned out very nice, I must say).

Oh, they had a Shelby GT-H at my wife's FBO, so I got some pictures of it and I sat in it before we left on the bus. The screws holding the plates in for the hood pins were already rusting - I got pictures of that, too. All they would have had to do was use stainless steel screws!

Speaking of hood pins, I'm thinking about it. I saw some nice ones at the car show in Tampa that don't require welding. They look nice and the plates don't clamp the hood, they just screw into it, so there is NO chance of dimpling the hood like that one picture we saw of that black car. They are at the proper spacing, and you can slide the pins back in when the hood is open so they aren't hanging on the front bumper. I like how they come out of the slot made in the radiator cover. You don't actually see where the brackets mount to the radiator support, to the look is very clean.

You don't see the sequential taillights either, but they're cool!

Tom- What you think about these MGW pieces?

Sounds like fun! Especially at someone else's expense. Yup, an open bar will get you two sheets into the wind quickly!

btw- Your FoF is a bad link.

Hood pins, huh... Any concerns with water?
I'm sure drilling 2 small holes into the hood is cake compared to the Shaker hole.

Wow, I really like those MGW pieces. Can't say they'll be too high up on my list, but I'd like to see them in someone's car.
