I learned that seeing the joy on my daughter's face as she gleefully makes snow angels almost makes up for my complete and utter hatred of winter.

I learned what it is like to go for 5 days without power.
Now that I have lights again, the snow doesn't bother me today.

I've learned that 10-14 inches of the white stuff is coming here on Friday, and as of Wednesday evening that storm is still in California!

I learned not to listen to my wife. Sure, it was a good idea for everyone to get together last weekend for a christmas party. Bad idea to have it a location that recently was quarantined due to the flu. So I have been sick since Sunday with the flu and who knows what else. Merry ******* christmas.

Yup. I was to go to another family christmas get together this weekend (again on the wifes side) and I said "Have fun". I still feel like crap and was told a few people there just caught the flu.
