What Did You Learn Today?
I learned why I put off projects...
1) Shelving in the basement, batteries on my drill died (for good)and the basement is now TOTALLY torn apart.
2) Decided to hang that new light fixture we've had for months, a 15 min job took 40 mins including the shattered bulb I had to clean up.
I was going to cut the dogs toe nails too but, I was on such a role I decided (for their sake) against it.

Today I learned that... yes, indeed, the top of the triple tree is bent, so the bike goes down the street with the handlebars cocked to one side, so I have to order that part too.
Which in and of itself isn't the big deal, but the tearing apart of the whole front end... again... is.
I also learned today that the rebuilt right fork will need to be rebuilt again because it's leakin' at the bottom for some reason.
So either way, I learned that the PC 800's front end *has* to be disassembled again... and we just got it running about the neighborhood in totally naked form.
It looked cool... had no lights though.
/Close but no cigar!

Yeah, Saturday was a royal pain trying to finish up the Harley so it could participate in the local Christmas parade but it's gone. I don't normally work on bikes but this was a favor for a friend....I can say that I will never touch another wreck repair on a Harley Davidson again. From waiting more than 6 months for a tank and fender to having to take back and exchange 85% of the parts because they were for some other model or option it was a collosal pain in the butt!
Nothing yet learned this today but it's still young!

True but there are some things just not worth working on.....and it's the lesson from prior dealings that help you remember that in the future.
I am still ticked at the whole Dr. Pepper incident though......luckily I had already purchased and planned to install a full set of power leather seats in the Magnum so the seat that got soaked is out of the car and I have to take it apart and clean it now just so it doesn't mildew in storage. That incident just pushed that part install a little further ahead on the schedule

What I learned this morning is when you let your gas guage go down to less than 10 (read 2 to empty)miles remaining, the whole gas guage area turns red when dash lights are on. (My color?) then on fill up it still only takes 15 gallons.
I learned that people are stranger by the day as we have kinda bad road conditions here and maybe worse tomorrow that when people go into a store to buy de-icing ssalt and its all gone they go mental on the poor clerk I was just out witness one occurance and stepped into shut the a hole up, ps the cleark I knew has a really cute daughter so it didn't hurt at all.
